Long over due and really since we have the Miron thread already and his claims of FFA racism

Followed by this pearl.

Furious Gold Coast United boss Clive Palmer has labelled Football Federation Australia as corrupt and out to undermine his clubs hopes of hosting the grand final after coach Miron Bleiberg was hit with a code of conduct violation on Thursday.

Whilst he is an odious fat f**k, I do agree that moving the post season cup final away from the side that has won the right to host it sucks.

it was a disgrace when it happened to us so cant be too hypocritical really

I'm sorry but i fail to see where the FFA have said that they are moving there home final IF they get it???

This is just another outburst from a fat f**k who is doing his utmost to destaibilize a competition which is going through a tough time as it is.

This outburst is about Miron making up shite to cover Pantelidis thuggery. Hopefully this outburst attracts a sanction from the FFA too.

And a sanction from a sporting league for being a naughty little boy in picking on the poor admin of that league, would be like a fly waving a warning finger at a cranky rhino. It's sure to make good watching.

This is his latest business deal to ad to the rest. 70 billion. Worth 16 bill. in direct royalties to government coffers over 20 years, alone.

I'm with paranoid Clive on this one, just I don't think Fold Coast are targetted - we all are!

I reckon our fan high point was reached with the Season 3 semi versus Scum, then they (FFA) moved the Grand Final - a shafting by FFA that may have started our fan downward spiral; with the AFC chance to arrest it stuffed around by the club; down we go with help from FFA and club.

I'm rusted on but we need FFA and our club back on track.

Just because we are paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get us.  :vhappy:

It is time after 5 seasons that the reforms setting up the HAL is actually completed. Go back and read the new national league working party report arising from the Crawford report.

Scenario. Sydney wins plate and first into GF and to meet melbourne in the GF. SFS holds 42k and Ethiad holds 75-80k under the FFA plan will Sydney lose their home ground advantage???

They have largely been ignored and will continue to be. Old habits die hard. IMO, it will go full circle, as the silly pricks just can't help themselves.
I don't mind having Palmer in there giving the self absorbed establishment curry to help keep the bastards on their toes. I would love to see the GC be first to the GF just to see Palmer spend more than the FFA's annual budget fighting for the right to host it. And I'm sure the FFA know that already and are shitting their pants at the thought.

Tard dome holds about 55k I think. Agree, far more likely to move a Syd v Melb post season cup final to ANZ

Scenario

We host the season 3 grand final with at least 15,000 Mariners fans in the crowd - and a live site at CC Leagues Park and Waterfront catering for the many thousands of others. The suppport carries us to our first toilet seat.

The result would have been a hell of a lot more central coast people with positive feelings towards the team and club. Something that no amount of advertising is going to help. It should be about building a history - not how much FFA can make on the day.  :soapbox:

$70 billion export deal with China
February 7, 2010
MINING magnate Clive Palmer has secured Australia's biggest export deal, with a $70 billion agreement to sell coal to China.

The Resourcehouse chairman said the company's proposed China First coalmine and infrastructure project in central Queensland had reached a 20-year agreement with one of China's largest power companies, China Power International Development, the flagship company of China Power Investment Corporation (CPI).

''This deal with CPI is Australia's biggest-ever export contract,'' MrPalmer said yesterday.

The contract with CPI is to supply 30 million tonnes of coal a year for $3.47 billion a year over 20 years.

Putting aside political differences to stand alongside Queensland Premier Anna Bligh, Mr Palmer said the deal would create thousands of jobs in Queensland and most likely restore the state's AAA credit rating.

The coal will be mined from the Galilee Basin region near Alpha, west of Emerald. A private 495-kilometre rail line will be built and new jetties and ports erected at Abbott Point, near Bowen.

The royalties are expected to tip more than $800 million a year into the government's coffers from 2014, while creating 7500 direct jobs and 50,000 to 60,000 indirect jobs.

Ms Bligh said the project would revive and revitalise central Queensland's economy.

Wasn't just Breeze.
In true Miron metaphor he basically stated that the FFA didn't like the fact Gold Coast were doing well, and so sent Breeze there to screw them over. Their #1 Sherrif as he put it.
HILARIOUS!!

:piralaugh: :piralaugh: :piralaugh:

As to Clive. Already looked like he was trying to destroy the planet by eating it...
f**king mining magnates... Among the biggest villains of our times.

Looks like this is a bluff to back the FFA into a legal corner over Nick's transfer.

Gold Coast to cite Mrdja clause for Fowler bid
MICHAEL COCKERILL
February 8, 2010

TITLE contenders Gold Coast United are set to test the resolve of Football Federation Australia by asking for permission today to sign the A-League's biggest star, Robbie Fowler, for the rest of the season.

The move is in response to Melbourne Victory's controversial capture of Nik Mrdja in a similar deal at the end of last week - a deal that has been universally condemned for giving the defending champions an unfair advantage in a tight race for the championship. The Mrdja deal was approved by the FFA under a ''special circumstances'' clause although it fell outside the transfer window. Adding to the furore is the fact that Mrdja was allowed to join Melbourne on the same day he re-signed with Central Coast Mariners for next season.

While the likelihood of Fowler agreeing to join Gold Coast seems remote, the move is a typically provocative one by a club that has been at odds with the FFA over a multitude of issues in its debut season. But while Gold Coast's previous confrontations with the governing body have rarely gained much traction, this one is likely to receive widespread support given the vocal condemnation of the Mrdja deal by a string of A-League coaches and commentators.

Melbourne have signed Mrdja - who will also be available for their forthcoming Asian Champions League campaign - ostensibly as an injury replacement for midfielder Billy Celeski, who has been sidelined since September. Gold Coast will attempt to use a similar loophole to sign Fowler as an injury replacement for Ivory Coast defender Adama Traore, who was ruled out for the rest of the season last week.

It is not the first time rival clubs have moved to prise Fowler away from North Queensland Fury for the business end of the season. Adelaide United - who will also be involved in this year's ACL - Sydney FC and Perth Glory have all made offers of short-term deals in recent weeks.

Those approaches have been rebuffed, and during an appearance on Fox Sports' Matchday Saturday, Fowler indicated he was looking forward to having a rest after North Queensland completed their inaugural season - coincidentally with a home match against Gold Coast - on Saturday night.

Fury chairman Don Matheson also poured cold water on the idea, saying yesterday: ''We've had no formal approach, and the thing about Robbie is, at this stage of his career, he wants to play less games, not more. I can't see it happening ''

Gold Coast do have one significant advantage over Fowler's other suitors - outspoken owner Clive Palmer is also major sponsor of North Queensland, and exerts considerable influence inside the club. Palmer is known to be enthused by the idea of snaring Fowler for the trip to Townsville for a match that could decide the minor premiership, and with Fowler's wages falling outside the salary cap, the billionaire mining magnate is well positioned to make a huge offer to Fowler to play the final round of the regular season and the finals series.

Meanwhile, Palmer has been given until 5pm today to answer a notice from the FFA after he alleged the government body was conspiring against his club's title ambitions.

Won't be allowed and the fat f**k will cry foul (or fowler).

The replacement rule has to be for a player on lesser or similar wages. Fowler is on ten times the wages of Traore!!!!

IMO, he knows it won't be allowed and getting Fowler isn't the motive.
To be honest Mick, I'm all for someone having the will to force the FFA to explain why they have a habit of shifting the goal posts like changing socks, poor transparency and refusal to be answerable for their actions. Be it Palmer or someone else with the clout to put the cat amongst the pigeons. We tend to forget the past too easily,  the recommendations of the Crawford report and what led to them.
If fighting fire with fire assists in a long term culture change, I'm backing it.
