Champions Parade
THE outstanding achievements of the 2012/13 Hyundai A-League Champions the Central Coast Mariners will be recognised at a special parade through Gosford on Friday 26 April.
From 12pm to 1pm, supporters will have the opportunity to cheer their Grand Final heroes as the team snakes its way through the Gosford CBD aboard specially decorated Gosford City Council vehicles.
Gosford City Council is arranging the event that will start at the corner of Burns Crescent and Mann Street at Gosford Train Station.
The Club’s players & coaching staff will then travel down Mann Street, turning left at Donnison Street and then left again into Mortimer Lane to end at Kibble Park.
The players will disembark from the trucks in William Street and make their way over to a stage in Kibble Park.
Mayor of Gosford City, Councillor Lawrie McKinna, will then MC speeches by Central Coast Mariners Head Coach, Graham Arnold, and the Club’s inspirational captain, John Hutchinson.
The Club’s players will be available for a signing session with fans, while a photo booth featuring the Hyundai A-League Trophy will be set up for supporters to have their image snapped with the ‘toilet seat’.
There will also be a face-painting stall on-site, while an inflatable pitch will be present for kids to have a kick about.
Central Coast Mariners Head Coach, Graham Arnold, said the event will provide a great opportunity for the Club’s players, coaches and official to thank the fans.
“All season we have had great support from the people of the Central Coast and many fans from outside the region, too,” Arnold said.
“While the fans will be cheering us on Friday, the parade will also be a great opportunity for us to acknowledge their efforts in supporting the Club since its foundation.”
