TBH, this Sheffield link has been a complete non event so far.

I'm sure they would have let Lawrie go and visit regardless of any deal.

So where are all these hotshot Brazillians, Magyars and Chinese then...............

to try and get to the 100 pages let me put a hypothetical out there (purely hypothetical):

if james holland were to sign with the mariners next season what would be your reaction?

Mick,

I would make the biggest MCKINNA OUT banner that you could imagine.
I would boo Holland every time he got a touch
I would make him know that from this fan, he is not welcome

Back on topic............from the BBC today

Gillespie likely to leave Blades
Northern Ireland's Keith Gillespie
Gillespie signed a new 12-month contract in the summer

Northern Ireland winger Keith Gillespie appears set to leave Sheffield United.

Gillespie has been out of favour this season and the club's assistant manager Sam Ellis has said that the 33-year-old is free to look for another club.

"Keith is not in the squad at the moment and I would think that will continue to be the case," Ellis told BBC Radio Sheffield.

"He is an experienced pro who feels that he would be better off somewhere else. That is the end of the matter."

Gillespie's agent Phil Munnelly has reportedly spoken of a "difference of opinion" between the player and manager Kevin Blackwell but Ellis added:"We don't want to air our dirty linen in public".

With the transfer window closed until January, Gillespie is likely to seek a loan deal until the New Year.

Gillespie signed a new 12-month contract in the summer but his three-year stint at the club now appears to be over.

Unlikely but what a signing if we could get a player of his quality in the HAL

He would be a huge signing us but i don't see him coming over here on his own terms because if he has a family its a huge move like half way round the world.
I wanna see some brazilians why we only talking to the poms.

because the brazilians in the most part have been shite

add all the brazilians together in the history of the a-league and only a small few have been decent

the a-league's obsession has been puzzling

thanks god lawrie hasn't fallen for the hype and dollars

I'm sure a current EPL player, even if he can't get a start in the 1st team, would be a far better signing than some of the Brazillians we have seen out here. I would hate to see a signing like 'LARDel' turn up here.

Tadrosse signs on for short-term

Australian youth international Chris Tadrosse has been drafted into the
Central Coast Mariners squad until mid-November as short-term injury cover
for fellow left sided livewire Dean Heffernan, in a significant boost to the
Mariners playing stocks ahead of what looms as a crucial Hyundai A-League
period.

Tadrosse, 23, recently returned to Australia after two years in Europe,
where he last played for Borussia Mnchengladbach II in Germanys
fourth-tier Oberliga Nordrhein throughout the 2007/08 domestic season.

Prior to this stint, Tadrosse enjoyed a short stay with KFC Uerdingen, who
also play in the Oberliga Nordrhein, after contributing eight appearances to
the Melbourne Victorys inaugural Hyundai A-League season

Most notably, Tadrosse was a cornerstone member of Australias 2005 FIFA
Under-20 World Cup campaign in the Netherlands, where he made an appearance
in each of Australias group matches as part of a squad that also included
new Mariners team-mate Danny Vukovic and a host of players that recently
starred for the Qantas Under 23s in Beijing.

"Chris has been training with us for close to a month now and during such
time, our coaching staff have been most impressed by his work ethic,
character and the qualities that he will introduce to our squad," said
Mariners Executive Chairman Lyall Gorman.

"As weve learned in the past, the success of a season doesnt rest on
eleven players, but on an entire squad and to that end, by introducing Chris
to our squad weve added a top-quality talent that improves the depth at our
disposal considerably."

Tadrosses capture increases the number of youth or senior internationals in
the Mariners 24-man squad to fifteen and provides Football Manager Lawrie
McKinna with improved options going forward and, in particular, on the left
hand side where Tadrosse has so excelled in the past.

An attacking outlet of a more diminutive nature to the other midfielders
currently on the Mariners books, Tadrosse is in line to be selected for the
Mariners clash against Adelaide United at Hindmarsh Stadium on Friday and
will be eligible for selection until and including the Mariners Round 11
date at Bluetongue Stadium, also against Adelaide United.

"Ive been away from the Hyundai A-League for two seasons now but have been
keeping an eye on proceedings and its fantastic to have been given another
opportunity to contribute to this very exciting competition," said Tadrosse.

"The Mariners have been one of the more successful clubs since the beginning
and having been introduced to their set up and to their playing group its
easy to see why.

"Im excited to be a part of this great club and this great team for what is
a very important part of the season."

How come we can bring players in as injury replacements when the youth league has started?

There's a length of time they have to be gone for - it used to be a short period of time now I think it's up to about 8 weeks before you can sign someone. So for us that's at least Elrich, Heff is getting out of his cast soon but he'll still take time to get back so that could be 8 weeks too.
cheers

wow, this signing fills me with massive confidence, NOT

I thought our policy was that we wont sign a player unless that player is better than the ones we have in our current squad? Surely this guy dose not fall in that bracket

he's certainly better than someone who can't play due to injury.

Is he better than D'apuzzo or Bojic? Im having a guess at no

not bojic but possibly d'apuzzo

was well rated by melbourne fans and the one game i saw him play for our youth team against the NSWIS he was probably the best player on the park

i will reserve my judgement as no one rated bojic until his first game for us
