ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Central Coast announce football partnership with Everton

Good thread title.

It's an interesting idea, it's a club with a history of youth development and it doesn't have the big money required to be competitive with large-budget clubs so they've got to be smart.

Sounds familiar, no?

A wag on SFC forum suggested it might be a link with Everton in Chile.

JC played there for six years and probably has a bunch of mates over there. A bunch of mates who would probably do really well at picking out players who see Australia as a stepping stone to England, and who will be supported by at least one fluent Spanish speaker who can help them get acclimatised and settle in.

Not many of our current squad would even get a trial at a club like Everton but it would be exciting if we got our hands on some of their fringe players on loans.

I hope you're right Dibo... With the English Everton what are the benefits? I struggle to see another angle that a potential carrot for young players who see Mariners as a pathway to a trial? I don't really see us as a likely loan option?

Have seen these in the past hope it works ... and it provides a perfect example of the twin sides of MC ... the cannon, the review handout as you go in, the band etc... then the other side talk of moving 5 games to North Sydney...

I think the worst thing that could happen out of this deal is... nothing? Either we get something out of it, or nothing eventuates, but not like we'd be losing anything. Unless we get a couple of dud players, but not like that hasn't happened before or won't happen again even without the Everton link ;)
