I thoroughly enjoyed the game & agree with Muppet that we had 60% of possession.

I think Celtic were stunned at how swift & accurate our passing game was.We knocked the ball around so well for our first big hitout, whereas Celtic just didn`t look composed at all.

Passfield...6 looked a bit shakey throughout & bar the 1 on 1 save didn`t have much to do.He can`t hit a ball anywhere near as good as Matty Ryan

Rose,Dutchy & Pedj ...7 all played solidly & stood up to the Celtic players.

Griffith...9 was outstanding for mine.He gave nothing away & dominated the opposition

Pelligrino.. 7.5 very impressive perfomance,he looked a lot better than Perez did in his first game.

Weemac.. 7.5 was given the honour of leading the team & he really gave it to his ex team-mates

Olly..5 I think he`s game has suffered under Vidmar, his passing was terrible. To many passes were under hit, didn`t find their target or were intercepted by the opposition.

Hutcho...5 I love his passion but IMO he`ll be with the yoof for most of the season

Bernie...6 Did well in the first half but was completely owned in the second.I`m sure he`ll learn a lot from games like this

McBreen...2 can we organise a loan spell in Indonesia until the end of his contract?

Sainsbury...I predict him to have a great year.

Baird...took the pressure off Bernie & made Mcbreen look third rate.

McDonald ...looked ok,he fitted in well & if Olly doesn`t pick up could find himself a spot out wide

Hearfield...limited time & opportunities but scored the goal of his life.I hope he can score a lot more this season

Gallagher.....to come on late & play like he did was a sensational effort. He will give GA a lot of options.

Porter....unless we have a lot of injuries I can`t really see him in the top grade. I hope he does well as he is a true local but I just think that missing the whole of 2010/11 we cost him dearly.

YA- did a fantastic job! They were outnumbered by about 7,000 to 150 but bravely cheered their team.It was so good to see them giving it to the Celtic supporters when we scored.

Celtic...to be honest I thought they were very poor & didn`t rise to the occasion for their loyal & passionate fans.

Crowd...how can 21,000 tickets be sold plus the walk ins & the crowd be given as 19,500 or so? Give us a break, who`s robbing who here?

Style - I am in the UK at the moment so really appreciate the run down on the players (so surprised at your comment on McBreen LOL) - where is Matty Simon? Arnie said that apart from Wilko and Kwas he had a full squad to choose from. Very nice touch to make McGlinchey the skipper, and I wouldn't worry about Bozanic, he'll come good. Glad to see Porter get a run, tend to share your thoughts about his prospects but hope he proves us wrong and nice to here Sam Gallagher having a good cameo.
Once again, thanks for the info. Cheers.

I WANT THAT SHIRT!

I don't care if it's a third kit we never wear, it's just a great shirt. I like our regular home kit too, but that yellow shirt is super. I'd buy both, TBH.

We also had a fantastic time and a great atmosphere. As we left with our kids a celtic supporter came up and said "well played" in a thick accent. I said thanks and it had been great to see a quality team. his comment "Quality! that was fockin rubbish".

There were only two negatives about the night-one was a lot of expletives from mariners (and celtic fans) when there were little kids around. I'm not a prude and have certainly been known to let rip with a few words myself but not when kids are around. Fellas- have a bit of thought for who is around you - we were in A reserve not the mariners supporters bay where I'd expect a bit of swearing.
The other negative was the over half hour wait to get out of the carpark.

I managed to record the Goal on my phone for anyone who wasn't there last night. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=db0VPba9Sqs

Great work by the the boys to defeat such a big team even if they weren't firing on all cylinders yet its still a fantastic result.

TBH, that was a freakin awesom crash at the TDF. Over half the peleton involved, reigning champion caught in it, and Cadel 2nd with almost 1:30 on Conatdor is big f**king news.

I reckon those kits worn last night would be hot property if put up for auction.

Hey Roy,
I bet it`s warmer over there....if you`re anywhere near Bushey Heath (Tottenham)drop into the 3Crowns & have a pint for me....lol

Matty withdrew late(injured) Musti withdrew the day before, I think(he needed rest...lol)some say it`s because Lennon showed an interest in him...lmao
If that`s the case then Lennon would now be interested in our entire squad!!!(with one notable exception)

I am starting to worry about Olly though. I`ve watched him 3 times in 3 weeks now & he just seems to be digging himself further into a hole.Pushing passes that are impossible for him to make, poor choices etc. I think it may take GA half a season to get the "Viddies" out of him.

I share your thoughts on Porter too.I really hope he has a stellar season. He didn`t get much game time last night, which may show a lack of confidence in him ATM.
He has Pedj & Weemac in front of him on the right side also.
The Porter from two seasons ago would kill both of them in the crossing department but we`ll have to wait & see how he comes up after the knee operation as to whether he will get back into the squad.

Overall though,(on first glances) we look stronger than last year.

PS. I checked out Aaron Mooy with the Olyroos.
He`s a real talent.I`d love to see him with us.

I differ slightly with the defense. I'd put Dutchy a little higher, and griffiths a little lower. Griffiths was great defensively. However, from my point of view tried to play too many miracle balls from centre half, rather than take the easy option. This left us a little exposed somethimes, and on their day Celtic could have punished us. Pedj looked a little shakey defensively, often getting between on the inside, but contributed well going forward. He just needs to work on his passing.

Other than that I largely agree with your points. First half our passing was great. When under pressure in the second we resorted to a little long ball, but finished the game well. Will be a great season ahead.

No wonder the bhoys blew up. That looks a very good HB claim and if it didn't hit his hand it wasn't for lack of trying.

lol fair call. There were a few dodgy calls though. There was an obvious corner for CCM that was given as a gk in extra time, not sure if it was just before this happened up the other end or what... maybe the scorers had started packing up their gear at that point so they couldn't risk any more goals going in?

Worried about all this talk of Ollie, his form peaked during the GF last year, I was hoping he would go from strength to strength

Yes Ollie did look very poor last night. Lets hope he can shake it out of his system come the start of the season.

The thing is Shipwreck, all it is is talk. We are 4 months away from HAL7 and Ollie does not need to be a world beater now especially just after being asked to play a completely different role for the Olyroos. He will be one of our best again this year coming make no mistake.
