ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Stoked to hear the news, hopefully it comes off. Would be close to a sell out at bluetongue, not sure what crowd they would get at ANZ?

Maybe we can tempt Fergie into lacing on the boots :piralaugh:

Seriously, would probably sell out BT so can see why ANZ is named (not to mention a substantial $$$ carrot from them)

I'm a definite starter if they're playing at BT, but I think I'll skip it if they're playing at ANZ.

We play at bluetongue in front of sell out, after lease costs, food etc and costs of paying Celtic we would barely break even. At ANZ, we would be paid to use the ground, FFA may, if we use the ground, provide us with an incentive by paying some of the Celtic costs and we would take a far larger share of the gate takings = us staying solvent a little longer. I must stress that's my rationale and I have no inside knowledge of managements decisions.

Are we part of a double header or just by ourselves ...

Can see Fozzie's pre match now.... when he talks of the skill of the SPL... and how much playing them will ehnace our development...

According to FFC Mariner on SFCU, the Mariners have the choice of playing at Bluetongue or ANZ and are crunching the numbers at the moment. He believes Bluetongue is the slight favourite at this stage.

Suncorp Stadium got a 30,000 crowd when Celtic played Brisbane there a couple of years ago. I imagine we'll get at least that many in Sydney, especially for a Sunday afternoon match. Our Bluetongue just wouldn't be big enough, unfortunately.

FFC Mariner believes BT is a slight favourite at this stage hey? Wow, I'm convinced.

I so hope it's Bluetongue. Remember it's not all just about a dollar figure. Having a sold-out Bluetongue would be a massive boost for the Mariners and football as a whole on the Central Coast. The local publicity here would be amazing too.

Kind of like when Beckham was in Newcastle. It worked for them I feel.

It would be marvellous to play them at Bluetongue, a real marketing opportunity but it will depend on the dollars - who puts money in, who takes money out and how much we make.

so, it is ANZ, in July - three months before the HAL starts - not exactly the showstopper you would want; Mariners will be in early training mode, will use heaps of subs; Celtic will be similiar as it is the first game. It;s good kudos to have the game but because SPL starts sooner than HAL it won't be much more than a training exercise for Arnie's boys

Saturday would be *much* better for almost everyone who... y'know... plays football.

ANZ suits me a lot more than Gosford too, but that's me being a selfish expat prick.
