ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Here's Kate Cohen's article on why players shouldn't just shoot for f**ks sake...

Analysing 3375 shots over 140 games of our championship season, she finds that 25 out of 26 shots from distance are effectively turnovers.
At our current rate of 2 shots per game it will take til next season for us to net once from outside the box.

After watching Neil for the past few weeks I`d be signing him to a 10 year contract.
He is one of the best young prospects I`ve seen at the Mariners.
His defence is tight, he is calm, aggressive when going forward & has that instinct to sniff out a goal with some clever crosses.
I think he could easily be joining our growing number of overseas stars in a few years.
Watching Micky Neill along with young Caceres has been the most enjoyable part of the season so far for me. They are both very skillful but also have the hunger to be successful. I think should both be regular starters now unless they have significant dips in form.

that's the thing - we don't just take shots. We keep trying to walk it in and as a result we're not even testing the keeper. somewhere in between maybe is the key

He is a delight to watch; his defence could be tighter but he will improve as he plays more first team.
He reminds me of a young Kenny Sansom (that should provoke sighs of nostalgia and looks of puzzlement).
The great left backs own the left hand side of the field; eg Roberto Carlos, and, in the A League Cassio of a few years back. Neill could easily own the left flank for the Mariners

This discussion can't fail to give credit to Josh Rose. Mickey Neill *has* been terrific, but the fact that Rose has turned out to be a bloody good CB *as well as* a bloody good LB allows us to play both. He's keeping Bosnar out of the side too - a specialist CB.

Good assessment, saw some of the Vernes potential. What do you mean that duke was played out of position again? I thought you rated him as a striker over winger.

Yes I rate him best as a striker and that's were he should be playing not helping out the already overcrowded midfield as he is obviously coached to do.

And to Phil Moss who I happily bagged for the decision; Rosey has done really well.

It's not like I called you a racist or anything.

I said you don't appear to know where people are playing - Duke was playing at 9, just as Mane was playing at 11. Moving around looking for the ball doesn't change that Duke was playing at 9 and Mane was playing at 11.

It shows that they are not being coached properly and that our team set up is a joke or in the case of Mane it was completely foreign to him so he kept reverting to his natural position on the flank.

???

Mane was playing on the flank. He wasn't drifting to it, he was playing there.

You and Mossy have the same ideas and same pancakes. Is the bunny a state league player?
