Dare I say it, but the Mariners are beginning to look like a less attractive version of the Roar last season. They have the same ability to grind out at least a point even if they play poorly, and as just witnessed, keep the self-belief to get a result at the death when a draw/ loss is looming.

Talk about nicking 3 points. Would have been happy with one, and to be fair that was still more than we deserved.
Though I disagree that Matty was our "only" player on the park, though several players were guilty of killing opportunities and giving the ball away far too easily and often.

Unfortunately, our prob is not just replacing Matty Simon. I think centrally Musti is off his game and struggling to be in play let alone dictate it, and we look better with Mc Breen @ #10 currently. Which is a pity, as I really love Musti. Nice to see Griffiths back.

433 was a disaster.
Griffiths has to start.
Hearfield cannot play upfront for 70 odd minutes. It makes us play with 9.5 as Abini is diminished by a complete lack of a strike partner as well as Hearfield ( who is industrious) being completely ineffectual in that position
Hutch doesn't have the dynamics to change a game. He has to switch to left wing or come off the bench (my preferred option)

Bojic 7. Crossing abysmal as usual by bombed forward well.
Rose 7. Solid
Dutchy 6.5 mixed bag. A couple of howlers but also some brilliant defending at times.
Wilko 7. Solid and calm.
WeeMac 7. Not bad
Hutcho 6. Couple of good moments but generally very average.
Amini 6. See above.
Olly 6.5. Tried hard and one of the few to apply pressure but still below his best.
Bernie 6. He is just a kid. Help him out Arnie. Worked hard but needs support.
Hearfield 5.5. 5 for effort. .5 for craft. Your kidding Arnie if you think he can lead the line!!! Great sub and great utility player but will NEVER be a front line striker.

McBreen 7.5. Impressed me when he came on.
Kwassie 7.5. Has the positioning of a striker.....you can't teach this to a player in their mid 20s.
I've never been a massive Kwas fan ( apart from when he is occassionally brilliant) but he has to lead the line with Bernie as he is the best we have ATM.
Griffiths 7. Looked better when he came on.
