I’m a bit worried that game will give us a bit of over confidence.

We seem to do better against teams that sit back off us and don’t press.

I think they let us into the game early which was a mistake, they should have pressed us and get us to crumble after the mistakes we made last week.

They still found ample space inbetween our lines and defensive players but we’re not clinical however geese don’t they leave acres of space open for opposing teams.
Staj did the same tactics at Perth but playing like that he is never going to win anything.

Almost every year of the Aleague shows defence wins championships.
This year is anybody’s chance to win because even the better defensive teams are hot and cold.

However very please with the win, but we still need a lot of work on our defence especially marking, counter attacks, etc.

Our last ditch defence is always on point:)

That was a huge win tonight

For me the most pleasing aspect was the improvement in shape and the movement by players off the ball.

Jacko easily won the tactical battle of the coaches .

On paper they should have torn us to shreds we had two 16yo's and an 18yo keeper .

Goes out on a limb but I think Doka is up there as one of our best signings imo the 4th best visa player we have had, behind Patty Z, Cumdog, Telio,

Cumdog wasn’t a visa was he?.

Asdurbal (spelling?) Wants to know if you remember him? And kelechi, Ayongo, BOLT!!!. He maybe makes the top 5
I see BOLT and I just go down memory lane of a night of masks and laughs! Was a great night really

Seriously. What a gritty soggy win!. Sure mistakes were made, but we deserved those 3 points tonight, and my CCM cap off to those that made the trip away in this gale

Let tonight be the our season's turnaround worthy of a mountain bike documentary..or something like that

MOM split b/w Trent, Brian and Harry...for reasons

DPC is 18 and learning on the job, he's got a massive future and should be someone we make great money off when he inevitably goes. That one big error dropping the cross almost cost us though and he definitely owes Brian a beer for that block.
He got hit as much by their player as Thomas was by our player at the other end. I don't think either were fouls - but I would like consistency.

I remember the joy as a defender of playing through 8 years with the same keeper. We all grew up together and thankfully we were lucky enough to grow together and improve together, the best days of my young life as a male were playing and growing in that team. The benefit to the future career of DPC at 18 of playing with the likes of Roux and Sainsbury can easily be overlooked. He's 18. Thats 18. What the f**k were you (collectively not personally Josho ;)) doing when you were 18? I'm so stoked for these young players getting their chance so early and its awesome it's our club giving it to them.

I don’t want to piss on anyone’s chips and three points is three points but imho that result had as much to do with how flat WSW were as it did any improvement in our play.

Primarily we are still not moving off the ball enough in midfield, are still more inclined to pass backwards than forwards and our ball speed is way too slow.

I’ll take the win but we will need to follow tonight’s result up with another against the Nix next time out before believing that any sort of corner has been turned, as on another night, Wanderers could have scored a handful against us and we have their Perf trip to thank for softening them up for us.

Ooh I dunno about that actually, Harry Steele was quite a lot more progressive tonight!

Rather keep my answer off a public forum tbh

But seriously, a starting keeper being 18 for any club is out of the norm and DPC has done a pretty good job and l definitely rate him over Pav. Keepers aren't usually at their peak till their 30's so he's got a long career ahead of him.

Alfie out (hope he is ok). My apparently unpopular opinion. Did we not look a better team without him? Eames and Steele? Thoughts?
i think eames and de lima were good and gave us a lot on energy .
and gave alou and later edo an extra dimension in attack .
both were gassed after the game and need probably less minutes ,next game .
or we risk soft tissue injuries .

i still see the major reason for the drive bys loss as their failure to press us .
by the time they started pushing us. it was to late .

also we were a a mixture of dumb f**king luck and teenage desperation.

i can't see the fire chickens giving us that much time .they could easily for another 4 on us next saturday .

this is a huge week for jacko coming up , against chiefy .
