Good to knock off one of our bogey teams( TBF they are a very pale shadow of the Roarcelona teams of the past). We faded badly in the last 10 minutes and nearly let them back in.

Nizzy regaining his touch and took pressure off Ollie.Beni did his work in attack and defence and was my MOTM.Cummings again showed his class and that pass to Beni for the goal was so good.Muller's free kick did take a slight deflection but was well placed .

Tongyik caught in no man's land for their goal but otherwise looks to be regaining his form.Rowles steady as usual and Farrell cut out the silly fouls and worked hard.

We were lucky to get away with a win after totally dominating in the first half but having nothing to show for it.
At 2-0 up 10 mins into the second half we took the foot off the gas and let them back into the game.
Luckily for us though we were up against the weakest Brisbane team in A League history, they were truly dreadful and to be honest we weren`t much better.
Hopefully now the monkey is off our backs and we can start to play football again.
My MOM was Rowles3 Nizzy 2 Beni 1
Looking forward now to wednesday but hell knows who we play...

Back three people, back three!
Why would you waste a spot on Tongyik as he sits right now. There’s a valid debate to be had about how to tackle Miller being injured/out - are you better off with RT in CB and DH in RB or do you keep DH central and just play Roux? Based on a few moments tonight I’m wondering if the later is better and less disruptive. Their goal was criminal defending.

A win and an ugly one at that. Mariners of old who get dragged down to the opponents level just like against Perth. We wanted some luck so let’s not forget they hit the post twice, we could have easily lost that match. This defend a lead for the last third of the game needs to be removed from the play book. We can’t defend a lead to save ourselves. On that performance we are not top 6 material, have no chance mid week against Victory IMO. We still look so fragile.

We did not dominate the first half!

That let us have the ball.

And it worked for most part and as stated above they could have had 1/2 goals up on us!

I am very glad for the win, but that game could have been the opposite result 2-1 to them easily enough.

Im glad Cummings came back and gave us the little spark we needed.

But we are extremely predictable and our attack is disjointed and forced.

Why is it that every great striker we get needs to drop deep and create goals rather than score them...... and we've now got 2 of them and they both create better than they get to finish.
what do you want cummings to do ? he got stuck in and chased. got 2 points from me.

monty was way to late with his subs . muller was completely unable to turn at the 60th .
this gave roar a constant extra man .every time they turn and lead to the goal

I was stoked to get the win. Brisbane are very poor and we should have punished them.

I thought Roun was quite good apart from his defending on their goal. We are less insipid when he is there as he is more positive than Dan and is happy to play forward.

Nizzy was the standout for me, but why he didn't shoot once he got to the edge of the box I will never know?
Beni had a good game and the finish was sweet....lovely ball by Cummings.
Kye is in lovely form atm.
Farrell is so composed for his age and experience.
Birraz was rock solid.
Hall was a bit suss at RB especially passing and crossing but he still did some great things.
Muller was Ok.

3pts Nizzy
No one stood out enough to get 2pts so I will give 1 point to Birraz, Kye, Beni and Faz.

I saw my son in law there at Bay 15 and went to have a chat at half time........I was shocked to hear it was his first ever Mariners game. He loved it and will be back.

The Monkey is off our back......lets go on a run now.

COYY.
