Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

And responsible for the goal, parked the bus and a free header with 5 at the back. Negative football doesn’t always work Arnie
Very harsh it was an inch perfect cross. Souttar didnt get in position to block him from behind either. Kye did plenty of good work.

I did notice that as soon as he came on all Spain's attacks came down the right
You mean when Spain brought on a regular starter for Real Madrid? I dont think any Aus player was much of a factor in where they attacked.

The time given to asensio to pick out that pass was way worse than anything Kye did.
100% agree with you very harsh

imagine if we had players who could make those types of crosses

Asensio is worth 35 million euros...

I think people here are almost waiting to pick out and comment on a Rowles mistake. Joel King wasn't pushing up onto his player and allowed the cross.

We can blame all day but ultimately, outplayed throughout the park.

30% possession and 0 shots on target.

Stens through to the QF

10:20pm - Football: The final whistle sounds and NZ progress into the quarter-finals, possibly against Japan at this stage.

The probably should have sealed that spot against Honduras, but let victory slip away. This time, a draw is enough.

NZ and Romania both finish with a win, loss and draw, but the OlyWhites have a better goal difference.

Reminds me how I got involved in booze fueled misbehaviour on a flight from Vanuatu once.
The connecting Qantas flight from Brisbane was tipped off and we were split up and refused alcohol.

https://www.smh.com.au/sport/rugby-...behaviour-on-flight-home-20210803-p58fkw.html

Sounds like the rugby types were drinking the duty free after shave too.

Rugby Australia is investigating allegations of bad behaviour from the Australian men’s rugby sevens team on their flight home from the Tokyo Olympics.

The details of what occurred on the flight are yet to emerge but the Australian Olympic Committee and Rugby Australia are aware of the alleged incidents, which are believed to involve drunken behaviour and leaving the plane bathrooms in a mess. Japan Airlines has reportedly complained to the AOC.

Doesn’t help that they’ve been sent to the biggest sports event in the world, an opportunity of a lifetime for many of them and then have to pack their bags and ship out fast because of rona. Not much room to blow off steam before 2 weeks in a hotel room.

This nails it for me. On the way back from an olympics without a chance to really celebrate and let off steam. I'm sure it's nothing too serious (I hope)

100%, cannot really blame them and the media loving the controversy and at the moment it does not appear to be anything really bad. Unfortunately we as a nation do not hold ourselves to the same standards as the Japanese when our sporting teams visit other countries. Now a good amount of them are stuck in the NT for two weeks, hope they can at least enjoy themselves up there.

All of our athletes have a duty to behave themselves whilst representing our country.
However, if this incident was so bad (as the media have made it out to be) it raises the questions of "What were the officials that traveled with them doing? " and "What is the airlines responsibility in supplying the alcohol?"
Also , it was reported that vomit was left in a room in the village. "Did the host nation have cleaning equipment available to the athletes or did the athletes let them know that the room needed cleaning?
Let`s face it,the media will jump on anything to get away from the Covid saga...

No formal complaint made by the airline so I doubt the “incident” was as serious as has been portrayed. Less than ideal? Sure.
I thought the airline did make a formal complaint to the AOC in writing..... either way they're all wearing a uniform. Surely these athletes are aware by now that when your in uniform your behaviour reflects that of the greater team and is subject to intense media scrutiny.
