CCM 24/25 Season - Mens

I found myself reflecting on how bipolar this club is.

We're either the best or the worst.

Right now we're both at the same time:
we're currently the back to back Champions and the only Australian Treble winners in history - and performing at a wooden spoon level and in a death spiral.

I suppose given the choice I'd take this over being a mediocre team who middles the table every single season.
Mind you, if you want true bipolarity hilarity, have a lurk on ANY Scottish forum - especially during a match. Triumphal joy to despair and back again, every ten minutes.

I understand the financial trouble, but boy this is hard viewing.

Since the Grand Final which we won 3-1, having won the Treble and back to back Championships:

we have played -
* 19 league matches
* 7 ACL matches
* 1 Australia Cup match

27 games for 4 wins.

Charlesworth in charge ✔️
Rigid, inflexible coach ✔️
Nonsense positivity statements from coach that imply he just parrots buzzwords ✔️
Poor players seemingly disinterested ✔️

Yup dark days. What's Mulvey up to?

The difference last time was I knew that despite the terrible state on the pitch there were dedicated decent people working their arses off behind the scenes.
This time there are no people

I think you have hit the nail on the head unfortunately.

People like Gabby, Dan, Shaun, Iain.. .. we might have been shit but we kept going because of people like this who fought to keep us alive.

Can’t even see we will have Jacko at the end of the season. Regardless of his shit recruiting, tactics and decision making.. scary thought is, who comes in next?

The Academy is up poo creek. (Didn’t want to use the word SHIT too many times.)

It’s really hard to see a way back from here.

Jacko cannot make this team gel.It shows how a couple of players-Nisbet,Balard and to an extent Torres-are important in getting results.Roar would not have been the same team without Broich and Sydney FC if Ninkovic,Bobo and ALF had not been in their ranks.

RP's devastation of the backroom and Academy staff has made the whole system a shambles as well as the lack of finances.

Ultimately we don't have anyone that can score more than about 5 goals a season if we're lucky.

Torres was our 3rd highest goal scorer in a season in our history.

The season before that we had our highest ever goal scorer in a season in Cummings.

This season so far the entire squad has not scored as many as Cummings did in one season. (And that includes Owen)

We can't finish.

I still would have liked Tappy and MDP for the whole season. Would we have scored more - maybe - maybe not.

There were signs of a good team in there last night. But I can say that about many of the games this season.

My concern is we're going to lose too many casuals and rusted-ons this time to survive it. The dark years were looooong and returning to them would be a bridge too far for many.

I'll be honest - I'm beginning to struggle to stay invested at this point and I've been committed since the start.

For the last 20 years a CCM fixture has nearly always been first priority.

But lately... if something comes up that clashes with a games I genuinely wonder if it's worth prioritising a disappointing performance and result. I can watch the replay at a later time and be disappointed then without sacrificing something else.

I haven't quite made this choice for a game yet, but after the last couple of games I am nearly there.

If I'm feeling this way I can't be the only one.

Vuko, Farrell, Niz, Maxy, Tulio and Torres are 6 of the absolute best in the A League. Sir Alex Ferguson could not get this years squad to play anywhere near the level of last year.
RP nearly killed our season last year when he sold Tulio but Angel Torres stepped up and dominated and covered the goals with an amazing 14 from the wing and our momentum and the remaining 5 superb players kept us ticking.
No coach in the AL is getting this team to Gel this year. Almost no quality and no depth.
