ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Did SMac score?

Let me guess..... NO?
Correct.

According to my mate Celtic played most of the game in 3rd gear and went down to 1st gear after the third goal.

He'd had a thousand beers when I spoke to him though so I wouldn't bank on his match report being too accurate lol !

Roar came out of the blocks at a hundred miles an hour, hit Celtic on the counter with their pace quite a few times in the first 20 minutes.  Typical QLD/Brisbane efforts infront of goal though.

Celtic sorta woke up after that initial surprise and banged in two in quick succession (the second goal was a peach, quick one touches all over the shop ).  Third goal was a nice diving header in the second half.

Crowd was a touch under 32 000.  About 20, 22 000 of those were Celtic - the ground announcer said that fans had come from every state on Australia, the USA, Canada, UK and Ireland, parts of Europe, the Middle East and Hong Kong.  Pretty awesome tbf.

For about 20 of the 90 minutes the Celtic end was united in song (Hail Hail, Fields of Athenry, YNWA).  Seriously, nothing beats a proper football atmosphere.  As expected, Charlie Miller and Craig Moore copped an _absolute bollocking_ for the entire game.  Charlie had a good laugh about it.

What an incredible weekend! You couldn't go anywhere in Brisbane's town centre without running into dozens of people wearing the green and white hoops and singing at the tops of their lungs. Supporters got lubricated at those open-air bars in the Queen Street Mall and warmed up with a few Celtic songs before trooping over to Suncorp.

My son and I were in the Jungle, in Bay 311 right behind the goal. The atmosphere was unbelievable for a friendly. While the match was no great spectacle, for me it was great to see the performances of some of my favourites including Boruc, Caldwell and McGeady.

This Marc-Antoine Fortune bhoy looks the goods too!

Could be a dazzling year for the Hoops.

The only downer was coming home, logging on to the Celtic FC website to read the match report, and finding out about John Hartson's cancer. Very distressing news.

Be strong, big man.
