ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

TBF the SMH has also had articles previously about poor crowd and player behaviour at junior and district RL games so ot is not just picking on football. These incidents have also involved assaults though I can't remember if match officials were targeted.

This incident sounds serious and should result in an arrest and court appearance if the offender is identified. The Greenacre club have done the right thing by withdrawing from the competition.

This is what I could snip from the latest SMH article on the matter.

Can we get a fact check on this or forward to someone from the club to deal with SMH?

This happened but Mariners were not involved.

It was WSW fans after the game that came looking for Sydney fans. I had to drive through them after the game and there were about twenty wearing balaclavas and holding baseball bats. Fortunately they parted for my car.

They then let off a flare outside the main gate and pretty much dispersed afterwards.

With the Asian Cup in January the match calendar suddenly gets crowded. I'm assuming that FIFA dates will be adhered to. If so then we really need to start the ALM after the September FIFA Date

Same day as NRL GF would be a poor choice.
Probably room to squeeze in another round over the Christmas - 6th Jan if they play some weeknight football while people are generally not working.
Sorry - the date is 7/10/2023. However, is still doesn't change that 'the longest off season in the world' will probably not happen this year.

The re-writing of history is strong with this article.

Caceras was totally going to play for Manchester City despite admitting he never actually set foot there? And Manchester City were completely oblivious to this work permit situation until AFTER they paid $300,000, because a Premier League side worth billions would never think to research that.

Good pay day for us but CFG clearly had to learn how to make their corruption less visible after this.

The MLS is it a joke failure or ????

I am not suggesting we copy their model, I strongly suggest we copy their fan focused decision making models and how they view their sporting environment.

I hear what a failure and joke MLS is, all of the time.

The buy in for expansion into MLS in 2003, exactly 20 years ago, was US $10 million.

Renting at a local college gridiron stadium, zero business plans in place and of course moving to continue as renters at a local college gridiron stadiums.

San Diego to become the 30th team in the MLS.

20 years on, paying US $500 million for the buy in now., and brining rights to a 35K stadium….

Yep, MLS total failure

In the 30-team competition, there is 23 Football specific stadiums, plus two more teams building their own thus 25 soon, and with one team building a new stadium to go from an 18K stadium [which they are giving to their women’s team] to a 26K stadium.

Over all crowds around 90 capacity attendance across the league… with revenues expected to exceed 2.3 billion in a 29-team league [BTW the 2.3 billion does not include the 500 million buy in]

As I said total failure of a league, we have nothing to learn from them…

If interested this is a vid of their stadiums, with Mami the first one showed being rebuild elsewhere to a new 26K stadium and the 18K stadium given to the womens team, New York FC & New England operating out of non-Football stadiums are in the process of constructing their own stadiums, 26K and 21K. Meaning of the 30 teams 25 will have Football specific stadiums, of the remaining 5 teams, 3 teams draw huge crowds to the non Football specific stadiums.
