ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Vale Tony Boskovic

My dad played many games in which Tony Boskovic refereed.
To say they had different interpretations of the rules would be an understatement.
I think they met at the judiciary on quite a few occasions...lol.
That was back in the mid to late 60s,southern districts competition.
Dad played for Prospect Wanderers and Ulster back in the day.
Tony will be sadly missed by the older players,he was quite a character.

I feel he has the same issue as Arnie and just plays mates and fav players who haven’t been good enough for many years. Young players not getting much of a chance and now we have a huge gap. The WC could be embarrassing.
We'll be OK if the first xi can find their stride but I think our lack of ALW money means the development of depth isnt there. Probably won't be going forward either.

Its a coaching issue. Gustavsson isnt good enough. Weve been poor since Staj left and getting worse.
We were starting to decline before Staj left. The old guard are now to slow and the next group aren’t good enough. We were ordinary under Milicic as well

Womans world football has also improved alot in the last couple of years now the big clubs are taking it seriously.

Still i do think Gustavsson isn’t the right coach either as we have been really poor under him. We were one of the best in the world who could compete with the best in any game. Now we are getting smashed by teams we should be in with a chance against

Arnie takes us to Qatar and we don't get out of the group stage but draw with Denmark and Tunisia and lose to France-so not too bad.Arnie steps down and takes over the Matildas for the WWC and rejuvenates the team(including picking up overseas players with at least one Aussie parent). The team makes the semis, losing a penalty shootout to USA( no female grey wiggle GK) and wins the third place playoff beating Italy. What a great story!

Doubt they would like Arnie - too direct, too demanding. This is the team that didnt want Staj.

And we wonder why FA won’t move against any star players who might have been involved in any of the cultural issues that keep getting swept under the rug. Far too dependent on them.

The time to address some of the issues was the last few years and now we are scrambling not to be embarrassed on home soil. We likely will be, hopefully not right out of the group stage.

The ALW needs to be a longer season and more professional and it shouldn’t be on the AL clubs alone to carry that burden, FA should be chipping in a decent amount to make it a reality or we will continue to fall further behind.

You’d hope a decent number of them being in Europe would have accustomed them to a higher level of expectation and treatment by now but I think you’re right. Cant keep doing things the same way while the world moves forward.
