ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Another MRP cock-up

Perish the thought the Mariners might host the Grand Final,The FFA want Brisbane or Melbourne to host it, so they will do their utmost to stop us.

Mariners will never host a GF on our turf anyway - I still haven't forgiven those arseholes for stealing our home ground glory against the Jets.

The bit I can't understand around the MRP is how come all use of technology is rejected by FIFA when it comes to goal line cameras etc as it would not be available at every level but the MRP can use video evidence when clearly this is something that is not available at every level?

One is in play during the game, another isn't - I think that's a significant difference

I suspect that might not be true anymore. I think they'd look to ensure every GF is a sellout and that it is with the club that earnt it. Could you imagine the Furries having to play at Lang Park?

How come we always get screwed by the rules before they are changed. We couldn't sign Mori as injury replacement for O'Grady, rule was later changed. Couldn't appeal Perez ban, rule later changed. Grand Final taken off us, rule (possibly) changed.

Sellout @ SFS > Sellout @ BTS

That was their logic last time - and in terms of ticket sales, it worked.

Although, now that ticket sales have slumped I wonder if they'd still think like that?

That was half my point, the other half is that we've never had the same sort of crowds since - it was like that game being played away broke the romance.

They thought Sellout at SFS over sellout at bluetongue as it was two NSW teams, i highly doubt FFA would move the final if we were playing a team outside NSW, wouldnt even get to 20k at sfs if they did move it i think

My thoughts exactly .. we went downhill on and off the field and in the stands from THAT point (not losing the GF) and have been rebuilding ever since. If we do get to host a GF again the club should that time tell the FFA to stick it!

FFA and its short term agenda needs to turn around to longer term club and competition building.

If we host a grand final again I do agree that I rather it be at bluetounge instead of SFS, certainly. Even if it was against the Jets again.

Hurrah for Bojic getting a week reduction though - at least that's something that goes our way there...

If we host it at Blue tongue the Marniers would be allocated roughly 8k-10k tickets. if we go to a bigger stadium we get a larger allocation.

I would love to play a final at Blue tongue but just depends who we are playing.

I would say get membership and guarantee a ticket to the GF, but based on what's gone on every other season with GF "organisation" I wouldn't put any money on it!

Am I paranoid, or does this sound suspicious?
Personally I too am glad that Bojic has had his ban reduced.
But realistically, we should be pissed not relieved that the ban even occurred.
But now FFA turn out be generous, and sympathetic towards us...
I don't know- I must have hit my head. Because I sound like a crazy man.
Hopefully there is no hidden motive...hopefully they have just realised their in this!

And that's not to mention the corruption? The hearing should have been heard before the ban is carried out!
2 options
1) Hold a hearing before the MV game
2) Hold a hearing after the game (if they are sooooo busy), and let him play in the meantime!
Sure in theory, they could have then still reduced it to only 1. But at least there is the possibility of getting the whole thing dismissed.
Quite pathetic really!

And notice, no mention on worldgame, foxsports or 442 (or not yet at least)

. i won't be holding my breath about hosting a gf if we earn the right

. during the last debacle i spent an hour or so having heated discussions with those at the ffa ... of course they may have changed their tune a little but i doubt it

. points they kept making:
- the ffa control the finals and make the decisions
- they see the gf as a 'spectacle' ... the equal of the afl gf, etc, etc
- that thinking determines all other decisions ... seating and ticket allocations and availability, location, timing, etc, etc
- they consider that members should be grateful they are offered tickets for sale regardless of how few, where they are located or how much they cost

. as mentioned the 'organisation' was comical. the fact that for both grand finals i was surrounded by people buying maximum allocations of tickets on the 'members only' day ... and many of these people openly admitted to not being members

. yes i am still angry about not having the gf at the 'tongue
