ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

2nd Half sub, I suspect.

Really??

Considering that he has only recenty completed a season in which he played over 30 games and how poor our defence down the left was last week, I wouldn't be surprised to se him start.

definate start if he is cleared.

suicide not to.

unless we are planning on going down 4-1 at half time again and trying to catch up like last week.
bold strategy - i doubt it will pay off.

I would be very surprised if he didnt start and play the entire 90 minutes

He's extremely solid as far as a back-up left-back goes.

He's not with us as he burnt his bridges well and truly when he left, and also that he wanted a fair whack of cash to stay on board.

Defensively as sound as they come, but when going forward his crossing isn't of much use.

Interested to see how he backs up after 40 games in J2.

I can't say I ever really noticed his defending while at SFC, but frankly that's usually a good thing. Wilko's defending is mostly unnoticed because it's very no-fuss stuff. I'd certainly noticed his crossing though which should keep the palm trees and northern concourse under constant threat. But we need a defender more than we need another crosser of the ball, so no hassle there.

He looked no better than ok last night, but that's fine - after conceding 10 in 2 weeks I'll settle for ok. Mind you, much of their attack targeted his side rather than Boogard's and Bertos crossed from our left for Rukavytsya to poke home so he wasn't without his faults.

Thought he did well tbh, 2 sessions with the boys under his belt and all.
Got caught a couple of times which was to be expected first game back.
I thought his distribution up the line was decent, turned a couple easily so given a full week this week hell be well and truly up for it

Asked Troll FC for too much cash??? Seemed they had it to utterly waste on Whoninho and that crippled bloke from Hull

Asked for far more than he's worth, as evidenced through numerous instances of Bertos v.s. Ceccoli the other day.

In a cap of just under $2mill, he's not a six-figure player. And certainly not the six-figures in question.

He has signed for Adelaide to play in there ACL campaign.

Not sure if he will get much game time considering they still have Cassio.

Didn't expect him to stick around tbh.

Im disappointed tbh, if he stayed Heff could have been pushed forward and the left would have been more settled and delightfully quick.
Im sure the gaffer has a plan in place already.

Im not concerned I believe it wouldve been a struggle between Heff and Checkers when Heff is fit again. I like the "master and apprentice" situation where an experienced player and a young up and comer are the 2 occupants of each essential position on the team. i.e. like the situation with Vidmar/Boogaard, (Aloisi|sasho)/Simon, Gumprecht/Porter, Jedinak/McAndrew and previously Crawley/Danny are good examples. Heff and Checkers are both seasoned left backs in the same stage of their careers and in the long term sense the mariners wouldnt benefit.

Heff a seasoned left back??
We have a shortage on the left, actually not in our side but the league in general .A specialised left sided player and we wouldnt have benefited??
If Browny goes this year who else is a left sided player??
