ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. Of this starting 11 (youngest average age in the league):
i have no issue with where Storm and Kaltak areAre you Mrs kaltak? Because you basically blame paull for everything and give kaltak an excuse for every mistake.
Look at where he is on the through ball that leads to the goal. He is way out in the channel and both he and storm are nowhere near their man because they are running towards the ball. There is no need for either of them to be going there. There are 2 of our players closer to the ball than they are.
Defending 101 is when there is no pressure on the pass you drop off and manage the space in behind and get goal side. Even with pressure on the ball you mark tight, not run 5 yards beyond your man.. The 2 attacking players are moving forward and storm and Brian are wrong side and not even aware of the runs. If he gets goal side there he wins the race to the ball and there is no danger.
Paull wasn't MOM but he is improving this season. He got done a couple of times coming across by the pace of Drew, but there will be plenty of players the same - the kid is rapid.
Yeah he missed a couple of attacking headers but that's not his job- at least he is making runs in the box. The question is why aren't our attacking players getting on the end of those crosses.
We play with 2 CDMs, which means that if one of our CBs carry the ball forward they have to provide the cover. If he dribbles into a forward position Steele or Alfie has to drop in to keep the shape (probably Steele as it's left side). They have to have that awareness that if he goes the shape is off and adjust up.
I agree and not defending the stupid fouls, I hate them just as much as anyone. I’m judging him for his job, which is what he does on the ball, he only had a few touches. His touches after just coming on were sharp and nice and then he just didn’t see the ball. Which coincided with Bulls seeing more of the ball.I wouldn't say hate, but I'm pretty sure Jacko didn't say to him "mate we are getting on top here so give away silly free kicks and get a yellow."
He just needs to temper the cranky pills with a bit of common sense and focus the aggro, not just dive in wildly. 🤷🏻♂️
He gave the ball away and had to madly track back and commit a foul right on the edge of the area. At the ground you do "Jacko watch" he will stand up if he isnt happy.I agree and not defending the stupid fouls, I hate them just as much as anyone. Gave the ball away ALOT but he did put in a good shift. Steele was also guilty of ball watching on their goal which is why neither player got MOM points from me but they were worthy of a mention in dispatches.Only thing I'd add to much of what was said is - Doka deserves way more credit for that performance. He was everywhere and put in a huge shift. His crosses in, especially off corners, were beautiful, and he was one of our best in attack, transition and defence.
This is a poor read on your part. Storm pushed out to the wide man who got the ball but when jarkolis plays it square, he keeps facing forwards and doesn't recover the space or track the run. As soon as it is played square he needs to drop in.i have no issue with where Storm and Kaltak are
And as such should be aware of the danger. Even playing a high line neither is remotely aware of the position of the players they are supposed to be marking.Remember they are our most experienced defenders
Kaltak has rushed out of the line and the attacker spins and runs in behind him. He isn't playing offside, he (and storm) has been caught out. Paull is trying to cover. They are playing a high line to keep the attackers offside
Smith isn't chasing anyone. He is coming across to tuck in and cover the space for Paull (like a good LB should when the ball is on the he far side). Drew is on the outside, which in itself is a worry because smith is nowhere near quick enough to catch him once the break is on. When the ball goes long he looks for drew and realises he is past him.Smith on the far side has turned as he is already chasing the speedster Drew
Paull is 5 metres behind and playing those 2 attackers onside
If kaltak holds the space it's no goal for the meths. If he plays a higher line no goal for the Meths
No idea - there was talk of (another) training ground injury so that might be it?I'm sorry if I missed it, but is Fellatio done? Or injured?
Was hoping we're selling him and getting a new visa player. No idea - there was talk of (another) training ground injury so that might be it?
Obviously You would pick Paull who has played in less than a handful of wins when he is a starter to Brian a double championship winnerThis is a poor read on your part. Control the space - control the game.
I'm saying that blaming Paull for every goal conceded and not apportioning blame to others when it's appropriate is just wrong.Obviously You would pick Paull who has played in less than a handful of wins when he is a starter to Brian a double championship winner
Even if we got rid id be surprised if there was any money for a replacementWas hoping we're selling him and getting a new visa player.
