ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Smithers struggled in the Adelaide game but didn’t help we (perhaps needlessly) reshuffled the entire backline and brought on a cold LB to mark Irankunda who, until that point, had been in Faz’ pocket.
I still see smith offering something higher up. We all have seen what he can offer in his previous stint with us.
He’s injured at the moment - could be another couple of weeks.
I think your man crush is clouding your judgement Pete. I haven't seen a player hiding on the pitch like that for a few seasons (Brisbane game or whenever he last played).

The playing higher up argument is a testement to his average defensive ability as a LB. Roux used to be the same.

No man crush here mate. As I said, he was poor in that game, but one poor game does not make a season.
That was, what, 8 weeks ago now, and he’s been barely sighted since due to injury.
Is he gonna start ahead of Faz, Torres, Theo, or even Migzy?
Nah. Is he a solid af squaddie who can help us close out games, and start the odd game here and there? Hell yeah. Does he also have a lot of development ahead of him? Also, hell yeah.

Would he be better under Monty? Well… I guess we’ll never know. Mont was very keen to keep him last time around, however vuck came in for him and we couldn’t offer a contract due to ownership changes. He was gutted, Monty was spewing - but Mont brought him back at the first available opportunity.

Poor v Adelaide but Irakunda is high level so i can excuse that.

I cant excuse the game when he started at LB (sure it was Brisbane) and never showed for the ball at all. When it came to him he laid it off and stayed still, no attempt to move into space.

Then cost us the game with a pathetic clearance.

If i'm being Monty tough then he is gone.
