Subs were strategic, well timed and effective. Team looked well up for it. Credit to all involved.

Looked at the stats for our opponent in the final Al Ahed. In their semi they had 27% possession and 4 shots at goal and scored two goals in 5 mins to get a 2 all draw. This should be interesting.

Mark Jackson’s side is now just one step away from becoming the first Australian side to win Asian silverware since Western Sydney Wanderers clinched the AFC Champions League in 2014.

Between them and the trophy, however, are Lebanon’s Al Ahed, the 2019 champions, who overcame Oman’s Al-Nahda 3-2 on aggregate to win the West Asia zone finals. The final will be held on May 5 at the Karbala International Stadium in Iraq.
