Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

44 bucks for all 3 games .88 for me and the boss
Hi,

Im a member and was wondering how you got $44 tickets? On the website it says $54 for 3 games?
I cant make the last game as I will be in Europe so I will be buying them at the door, unless I can get them for $44.
Help.

Everyone needs to harden up and accept the fact, a seats a seat, its an identical stadium, the view from one side of the ground is no different to the other side of the ground, as for the sun, deal with it, if we want this club to be successful we need to rally behind the boys on wednesday night, not bitch and moan because your seat isnt available, seriously first world problems.

I hope we smash Suwon, but i have a feeling this will be no easy task, expecting a close game with us to take it out 1-0.

Any ideas on who is being rested, Arnie said in his post match interview with Fox Sports that Zwaansvijk, Hutcho and Mcbreen will probably be rested, and i'd say Sterjovski will come back into the side.

My lineup:

Ryan
Boijc--------------Anderson------------------Sainsbury-------------------Rose
Montgomery-------------Bozanic
Ibini-----------------------------------McGlinchey------------------------------Sterjovski
Duke
Bench: Paisfield, Griffiths, Fitzgerald, Caceres

Read the thread through - everyone's cool and on board and fired up to turn Suwon into so much barbecue chicken with chilli cabbage on Wednesday.

Media publicity is non existant.

spot on......nothing on the radio.....it was advertised on Saturday night at the game, but apart from the sign at the roundabout at Bluetongue, I've seen nothing else.

I expect Sterj to start. A couple of reasons:

1. He's fresh
2. He's got a lot of international experience.

I think you have the starting XI spot on. Though I expect the bench to be Pasfield, Patrick, Fitzgerald, Hutch

MEDIA RELEASE
Radio falls silent on Mariners
For the first time in the 8 year history of the Central Coast Mariners a competitive match played by the club will not be heard live on Coast-FM 963. The local community broadcaster was unable to come to terms with the World Sport Group (WSG) over broadcast rights to this year’s Asian Champions League (ACL).
It was only late Friday (5 days before the first Mariners match) that the station was informed of the fee to be charged by WSG located in Singapore. A fee of US$10,000 was sort to by WSG to broadcast the 6 group stage matches.
Don Glover, Coast-FM Deputy Chairman:
“A not-for-profit station like Coast-FM which relies on volunteers is about offering services to the community such as the Mariners broadcasts. We cannot afford to pay US$10,000 for rights to a competition that already costs the station money to broadcast. In the previous two editions of the ACL featuring the Mariners we have helped with flying commentators to China, Japan and South Korea, all at considerable cost to the station and the commentators personally.”
“Our support of the Mariners is unwavering and it is unfortunate WSG, based in Singapore, cannot see that the Central Coast is not an Asian mega city. In previous ACL competitions we have been able to broadcast Mariners matches thanks to Football Federation Australia (FFA) procuring the radio rights for Australia and allowing us to access them. This year with the Mariners the only Australian team in the competition I can only assume, like us, the FFA did not see the rights as presenting a good value proposition compared to the fee requested.”
“In summary I think this is grossly unfair to the people of the Central Coast that a big business from Singapore denies the people of the Central Coast a service that our station provides with volunteer labour”
Michael Kmet, Chief Football Analyst Coast-FM
“When I was told I felt immense disappointment for our listeners on the Central Coast. We have fans up and down the Central Coast many of them aging that don’t always have access to subscription television. We know this as we receive emails and even letters from them and their family members thanking us for the coverage year in, year out. The entire commentary team does it for the love of the game and love of bringing the game to the people of the Central Coast.”
“Every weekend during the A-League season we are either driving to a NSW venue or flying off to an interstate venue, we have done that for every competitive match the Mariners have played stretching back to the beginning of May 2005. Providing commentary at our own cost from venues in such places a Tianjin, China and Nagoya, Japan has been really special and it is shame we cannot continue to bring this coverage to the people of the Central Coast.
“We made a counter offer to allow the ACL sponsors to have as much sponsorship time during the broadcast as we can legally allow but it seems ‘cash is king’ for WSG.”

Coast-FM will resume Mariners coverage on Saturday night when the Mariners host the Western Sydney Wanderers with coverage from 7pm on FM96.3 or www.coastfm.org.au
