Adelaide v Mariners

I have no idea to be honest.
Reds actually played well last week and felt robbed...
We played a good 5o odd minutes...
Both teams are on the canvas and desperate for wins...

But if we can win this, we will atleast temporarily be back in the six.
Hoping we are hungrier and that AUFC have begun thinking about the ACL already.
Our winning form will return at some point, like everyone else, just really hoping its this week!!

0-0, one shot on goal the entire game by.......... someone.  *shrugs*
and thats being optimistic.

you too

Oh, I'll be watching - I always do if I'm near a computer, I just remember some of our previous games with Adelaide, the way we're playing at the moment, and the way Adelaide have been playing this season..... doesn't really add up to an exciting fixture.

Now having said that, my prediction will either come true or we'll see the game of the season with us winning 4-3 from a Danny bicycle kick off the last corner.

That would be gold. Danny scoring a winner.

However United played well last week and if they carry that form through would be us. However it is only Matthew Leckie who gives me a sense of danger for them.

A little off topic here, but is it just me or has Danny curbed his desire to be a striker this season?

. i don't think so, it all depends on opportunity/need

. he was up for the last corner against sydney. may have even got his head on it before bolton got him with the hook

So Danny still wants to be a striker, but Bolton's got ambitions for the 2010 season of The Contender, is that what you're telling us? ;)

. nah i've always thought bolton was a bit limp wristed for a 'keeper ... can't imagine him as a boxer

. i think he just knew he wasn't going to kuwait and saw his opportunity ;D

Adelaide have the most boring, uninspiring attack in the league. If we weren't the Mariners, I would be almost certain of picking up the 3 points here.

Big fuss over the pitch here.

Apparently it is very poor.

Aurelio wants the pitch watered before the game but water restrictions does not allow watering until 8pm. Pitch will be rock hard.

Something very suss happening with Travis here...
Saw him on last Wednesday at Erina eating Thai, looked healthy and fine, and then again at training on Thursday he was running around very well, certainly not someone who was struck down by a week long "illness"....

He came with a firey temperament, maybe he let loose at Lawrie. The guy was our best for a fair few weeks and then falls of the wagon and is subsequently out of the team. Something must be going on.

Homesick?

Like I wrote before he was at the beer garden last saturday night after the game having a quiet few at arond 11ish. Shits me cause he has so much talent but obviously not lawrie's pet.

. little anecdote from the open training session last year:

. travis heading to the dressing rooms on arrival is intercepted by a young fella (i'm terrible at these things but would guess 12-13yo) a short exchange was ended with 'and what's your name' ... to travis

. ouch, that's gotta hurt ... he hasn't been the same since :piralaugh: :ashamed:

. on a different note while doing some ball drills (it was all new to me) travis was the only one i noticed keeping his head up rather than staring at his feet ... i was impressed. would have expected similar from the wee man but he was still struggling with his ankle and didn't train. actually i will re-phrase that i would have expected similar from the whole squad, but unfortunately ... umm, no

Hoping that Disco Nick has another 'blinder' to make it three in row for him - and that he gets some decent support from the middle and his strike partner. If this happens I fancy us winning.
