ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Is it true the club gets to vet appointees?
The initial 12 were selected by each FRG sub group - OSC, YA and independents and “approved” by the Club (Shaun/Dan). As far as I’m aware there was nobody disapproved of. There has been a few positions turnover in the first year and their replacements have been selected by the sub group from which the person represented or in consult with the club and group for independents. It’s important the balance of the sub groups remains. The Terms of Reference (ToR) for CCM FRG (close to completion) will include succession details. APL ToR defines that the initial chairs of each club will be a 24 month term - they wanted start up continuity - then the position will be for re-election by the group. Hope that helps

CCM put out an email a while ago introducing fans to who was in the FRG.
Some fans put in their nominations to join the group, others were picked by the club due to a long relationship.

Yellow Army have posted a link to the forms a number of times.
OSC have it as a permanent link on their site.
Most of the questions coming from the meeting on Wednesday night was actually input from FRG members after they'd spoken with fans on game day, forums, or social media.

I have previously asked if the group would like a social media presence so we are more visible, I think I will push harder this time.
As a number of people are finding out, some transparency and open communication are key in dealing with a fan base.

The FRG actively advocate for fan interests to the club's and leagues management.
The other night we discussed.

Referees verbally explaining their decisions, instead of just their decisions following VAR intervention.
Long queues and catering at the ACL game.
User interface issues with the membership renewal and ticket page.
20th year anniversary celebrations, merch etc.
Inury reports of players being absent.
Men's and women's game fixture clash.
Pre game entertainment including music.
ACL kit sales, AFC Cup winners emblems.
Youtube presence of the club moving forward.
Problems with the clubs telecommunications.
Kit sizing.
Members not receiving crucial emails.

Two to three of these issues will be taken to the APL FRG for further discussion as a league wide problem.

Thanks for your efforts (and the other FRG members) on this Jimmy. It does make a difference to know there's a representative voice with some common sense and fan interest at heart.
