ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

A-League Transfers and Rumours

2017 apparently! Sydney FC forum has a very well updated thread which is a better resource than anything else I've seen.

You wondering if you can get him back to der Club?

On the season so far, 14th isn't a good spot to be in but 9pts from the playoff spot and only 7pts from the last Europa League spot means that it's not too bad.

Dibo, I doubt that he will come back to us.
I was just asking as a supporters group I am a member of would like to interview him. And as I am most likely coming to Australia next year that would be a great possibility to do that then.

Well, we could do better...

Former Real Madrid star Hugo Sanchez heads a list of applicants for the coaching position at A-League side Wellington Phoenix, ESPN understands.

Wellington's top job has been manned by interim coach Chris Greenacre since the departure of New Zealand national team boss Ricki Herbert last month. A number of names have since been linked with the role, including former assistant coach Luciano Trani, Central Coast Mariners assistant Phil Moss and Columbus Crew assistant and former All White Duncan Oughton.

Greenacre, though, told the official A-League website he will not yet be applying for the full-time role: "It's been an absolutely fantastic roller-coaster. I've enjoyed every second of it. It's opened my eyes that maybe in the long term it's something I really want to do."

Meanwhile, agent Tony Belica is reportedly representing a former Madrid player as a candidate. Belica refused to name his client, but ESPN understands the candidate is five-time La Liga champion and Mexico legend Sanchez.

Best known for his exploits as a player, Sanchez turned his attention to coaching in 2000 and earned respect in Spain for keeping an Almeria outfit - led by Alvaro Negredo - from relegation during a tumultuous 2008-09 season.

Sanchez won the European Golden Boot award in 1989-90, and was La Liga's top goalscorer in five out of six seasons from 1985-1990. He was voted the greatest footballer of the 20th century in North and Central America by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics.

Wellington are at the bottom of the A-League ladder ahead of their clash with Perth Glory this Sunday, with a report in the New Zealand Herald declaring they are likely to make a decision on the coaching position next month.

LOL. They're going to drop Cole for Heff? Or Bridge?

Maybe with dropping Kresinger, they plan on putting Bridge up front and playing Heff out wide, but then I'd have Haliti there instead... Weird signing, unless very cheap.

Not as bad as continuing to pay Emerton a million a season (HA!) but still weird.

A bloke you'd hope is doing his badges and will move on within the club. He's a Sydney boy I think so he's coming home.
