Throw in a couple of injuries and niggles being rested.

However still a bit disappointed as a great opportunity to work on a defence first approach and work in some younger ones practicing block and strong defensive lines.

It’s all a trick to lure false sense of security.

Our trouble is depth which in our financial situation is always going to be weak. We need to rely on our depth being in 2 concurrent competitions.

The only way to fire harden the depth is to chuck them in the forge - much better to do it now in preseason where points aren't at stake. I would still have taken our best 11 to each preseason ACL game though.

We had to do it in the first 4 games of the season last year. Hopefully means we'll click earlier in the season this time around. But - these big losses arent a confidence filler.

That’s true and close games with Aukland and someone else.

Should be an even comp with maybe WSW, Sydney and Victory possibly standouts unless their Visa’s start getting injured.
