ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

What if Rowles got the ball and Tilio was late (this is in fact what happened). The first contact was actually a foul by Tilio on Rowles and he was falling from that. Does that affect the decision. (I'm still not convinced the second one occurred in the box either). What should the decision be then.
I haven't seen it yet - but yes, it certainly can affect it. The ref needs to decide if the 2nd contact is a foul in its own right.

I've had times where the player was already off balance but the 2nd contact was clearly a foul, clearly careless with a bit of force, so awarded a pen.

I've had times when the player was off balance and a tiny bit of contact knocked them over....in that instance, I went back to the first one.

I haven't seen the incident yet, because Paramount Minus are a blight on the game.

See this is the rub - there was no second contact at all. That was just that moron commentator trying to rationalise what happened.
Rowles made first contact outside of the box and it continued into the box in one flowing motion. It's cut and dried.

So, I missed the game.

I would LOVE to be able to watch the key elements.

Too bad our broadcaster is the worst sports streamer in the history of sports streaming, ever - and the incompetent AL permitted it to happen.
If you didn't know any better, you'd swear the clowns overseeing what's happening on/ off the field (garbage officiating on a weekly basis that favours a handful of sides, rubbish new website where trying to find simple info/ video is a navigational nightmare, new broadcaster who've been amateur hour to say the least, admitting new teams that nobody gives a shit about with SFA crowds etc. etc. etc.) are shadow employees of the AFL and have orchestrated this to implode the A-League....

I keep thinking over those decisions and I really can't see how it's not corruption. These were clear decisions that drew absolute and unanimous agreement as to which way they should have been called.
Evans worked as hard as he could to find a way to justify the opposite.

At a minimum as a crowd we need to be yelling CHEATER at Evans all game if he's ever at Gosford.

This can't be let go. Noise must be made. We need to pepper the powers that be with demands and questions. Squeaky wheel gets the grease. I'm going large. If it's let go it'll just happen again.

I think banners and visible protests are required at next home game at minimum.

I’m a tiny bit optimistic that this situation might drive some change. The league is suffering heavily in interest and ratings, there’s already noise about VAR from recent interactions and delays and the outrage from this decision is pretty much universal. Even the commentators and panel got stuck in to them. Maybe they won’t be able to ignore this mistake.

I have literally never seen any other kind of ruling in watching tens and thousands of games. Has anyone else?

The players are absolutely gutted, and "embarrassed for the fans". "Only here in Australia do they use the VAR to help them make the wrong decisions" End quotes.

I'd walk if it wouldn't just hurt the team and club more.

I think the discontent may have reached a tipping point too. But I honestly have no trust our referees have enough integrity or ability to properly over haul this. But who among the owners group would truly be motivated to drive change in referees who continually err on the side of the bigger clubs.

Depressing.

Thinking about it, about the only thing I'd trust and who could likely have the acumen to do the job properly, is an ex players panel. Everything at arms length. Only those vested with a love of the game. No financial interests or alliances etc...

Honestly mate I'm going through a really difficult busy work time at the moment, i have very little time to myself and getting cheated like this really hurts. I've only got a few hours a week free for relaxation and I'm spending it on watching the team. Getting f**ked like this when you're tight for free time really makes you question where you're spending it. I love the club and the team, no point though if it's not fair. This is nothing to do with the club, it's the organization running the league and the officials. There no way that was not cheating from someone. Best case it's the ref on his own, worst case is match fixing or league win fixing. Any of those scenarios makes it a waste of time to watch. I'm so upset, maybe I'll feel better tomorrow but right now...i don't know. I've given up on shit before when I've found out there was cheating, it makes it pointless.

And that response (and i'm a big fan of Capt) is the problem. Refs have now become politicians. See what they want to and defend what they need too. Oblivious to reality.

Thats a stretch. They are simply corrupt from the top down.

I can’t call it corruption or match fixing, purely due to the phenomenal amount of time it took Evans to make a call on both occasions. If it was match fixing there is no way in the world he draws so much attention to it by taking 5 minutes to review.

But what that leaves is a staggering amount of incompetence driven by confirmation bias. In both situations he made a real time decision in favour of city, on both occasions CGJ called him over to the line because he had seen enough to stop play, and on both occasions Evans took a huge amount of time to essentially convince himself he was right in the first place. There seemed to be no objectivity on the process.

100 percent. There was some real improvement imho. But no doubt NIz was at the heart of it. Goal scoring aside, he's a better player than Olly and he was the key. Please god keep him there Monty.

And LUKE, I'm on the Beni train brother. Screw you haters. Loved his post match interview. Lovely young guy, deeply committed to the team and he had a stellar game for us tonight.

beni did play well. Best he’s played over a whole match in our jersey. His goal was very very good.

The 2x A-League Facebook posts from last night have 360 and 480 comments respectively.

A normal game this year between any team usually has 10 to 20 comments on the A-League page.

For now in this moment they probably think it’s great bringing publicity and controversy.
They probably think more people will want to watch the “drama”! Haha

I stopped posting last night, and decided to wait until I could post something well thought out, unemotional and rational in the cold light of day. Here is the result.

We are being continually screwed over by a bunch of incompetent, cheating, corrupt bastards in a league that is the most incompetent in the world, that every time it renews itself it gets worse and gets broadcast to the world?by a broadcaster that appears to use mobile phones for cameras.

f**k the lot of them.
