ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

It is what has upset me more than anything else.
A bloody disaster.
I said similar today.

We have never been in a position to spend big money on players. We know that. That’s why we had to breed our own, and we did .. Niz, Maz, Faz, Hall etc…

Now what have we got? I’m absolutely not saying we don’t still have talent there. Whether we can keep them is the real question and are players still beating down our door to come here?? I doubt it very much.

I think the "shake up" of the academy will hurt us for years personally
Depends what we want to do as a club.

The difference was in ages. We used to keep them until the end. They were then physically ready for A League but may take a few extra years to be ready to go overseas.

Now we seem to be trying to sell as soon as they are 18. Which isn’t bad if you get the right players.
So far we have a few good ones. But can we afford to bring the top ones from interstate or Sydney.

will struggle to survive the drop but in reality players need to be ready at 18/19 to go overseas if they want to make it to the top

f**k off Syd. It’s a legitimate gripe. I bring in the club over a thousand dollars in memberships every year and have been there since day one.
Its as tedious as TB pushing Mongoloid on You're Listening to What Right Now.
For twenty years you paid for entertainment and got it.
I remember at ten years foundation members were trotted out and applauded. Wasnt that enough recognition for you?
The club is running on the smell of an oily rag. If it doesn't cost anything, [like another parade] then OK, but its limited funds should be spent on getting new members, and retaining current ones. Stroking your ego should be a low priority.

Peak Hello Sailor. Contrary to everything I post. Have you got a bee in your bonnet about me?

Yeah - will be another discount to clear their shitty merch only available at the Roar game
Though I appreciate the question, i think its buckleys.

However I did see this on socials earlier...

"Enjoy the halftime events at our last game of the season! Watch Foundation members run the length of the pitch! Marvin awaits at the finish line for an award or something. What will it be?!"

I think the problem is probably less about finances and more about having someone on deck to do something.
I would say at the moment the biggest problem is getting the ship back on course and that is taking all resources.
I fully agree with MIck, he was here (original forum, a month before me.) and has a right more than anyone to ask this question.
Some may say it is not important. It is. This is a community club. You have to look after your local supporters.
I look forward to recognition but I like to think the Club is fighting bigger battles at present.
