ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

It`s an age old arguement. The best team all year should be regarded as the premiers & champions.
It`s time we fell into line with the rest of the world instead of living the thugby league dream.

I enjoy the finals. I dont really see the problem with premiers winning the league/champions winning the finals.

The AFC put more emphasis on the league winners, as do most nations. I think both are accomplishments, though the glory of winning the grandfinal might be diminished if the FFA Cup ever got off the ground

I enjoy the finals series. But it needs to be understood as not being the pinnacle achievement. Why? Because it isn't.
There is one team in the comp who is clearly the best at the moment, and lo and behold, they were the team proven best over the entirety of last season, not the guys who won three games in a knockout comp. Surprise surprise.

I wish they would replace finals with an FFA Cup just to distinguish the difference. It'd effectually be the same as a finals series and would give teams that haven't done so well in the premiership something to go for (as well as revenue for FFA). It would be even better if they opened it to state or even youth league teams - it would certainly draw way more people in if their little local team made it through to a playoff against an A-League team for instance...
They probably won't anytime soon because culturally a grand final draws more interest primarily from those outside of the code at the moment
