ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I know new yrs is our home game where we sell out and get big crowds big atmosphere an everything but what about our "home game" the one which may be moved to sydney. Be scheduled on new yrs eve early evening then celebrate on the harbourside would be huge trip/night. :pirashoot:

Its the one thing sydney does better then us fireworks. :grouphug:

Just putting it out there. ???

There's no doubt it would be for some of us Eggy, but if you look around in any Bay outside of the Northern Concourse on previous NYE games, you'll find a lot of families, oldies and others who would miss out on a game because Sydney on NYE is chaos.

Sydney at NYE is always chaos.

It's no wonder wise families who live on the Central Coast chose the Bluetongue game and the fireworks at Brisbane Water.

Doubt I will ever forget last NYE. I was cleaning buses at the depot til about 2 AM. I never wanna see another Smirnoff Cruiser bottle again! And as for vomit........

I'm interested in seeing if they only have a week's break over Christmas this season due to such a huge crowd at Bluetongue for the Sydney game.  I'd like to open the season with a home game and not an away game.  Also hope we don't get too many Sunday games.

Im with you on this one

Nah, give me the Blingers on their turf any day - we owe them. Besides which, if O'Grady is still here, we could have the mouthwatering sight of him putting in one of his famous lunging tackles on Aloi$i....lovely!

Either way, the 1st game of the A-League season should be a HUGE event, and if its between us and either Sydney or Newcastle, it should be a Saturday. You will always get a bigger crowd to a local derby on a Saturday anyway, so I dont get why they like it on Fridays. Because thats what the other codes do? Dunno

I think opening game should always be gf rematch who ever it may be and  try and work in as mutch rivalry hype as possible for the rest so eggys rnd 1 would be.
so fri night
gf rematch
ccm vs scum
sat double header
mel vs adl (is as tense as scum/coast)
perth/nz(surly theres a rivalry there both been fighting over the spoon for 3yrs)
sunday
syd/qld
that all thats left but after there poor semis efforts surely they can build some hype there

I think what the FFA last season was good, get as many as the less "heated" matches matches out of the way as possible, have the first weekend after nrl/afl finals choc full of derby hate-fests for all and repeat every few weeks.

Even though we had a good season last year the nrl/afl finmals series do create a heck of a lot of noise for football to break through - but after that it's all clear air and you should put your best matches until then.

And xmas/new year is boom time. Why not a "Festival of football" where several matches are played days apart by all teams to capitalise on people not doing an awful lot?

Hope we get no more 5:00 O'Clock matches bad for crowds, if Fox want a Sunday 5:00 KO then play  sheep shaggers at 7:00 NZ time

I am happy with that the Choppers can play the 5:00 matches if they want them.

Sydney away first round is a tradition.
Last year was the best (and everyone agrees) away trip we've ever had as a supporter group..
Forza Mariners v Sydney Round 1 each season

I don't know if I agree, there were so many good away trips done, I won't ever forget the first ever Sydney away trip even if there were only a dozen of us!

...complete with Sully and Gumps basically jumping over the fence with joy at full time getting the rockstar treatment from us soggy loons, and then getting shifted 10m over to the left because they were standing on the turf they were growing for cricket (incidentally, WTF is with that?).

There were more tahn a dozen, I'd say maybe 30-50 of us there. That sing-off where we waltzed into the Cricketer's and sang our guts out while the SFC fans stood around stunned was quite the laugh too!
