ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Wanna know how close?

Further to Tom Smithies' article (also in 'Good CCM reports'), I did my own breakdown of the A-League + finals matches played in the last 12 months, which is from Week 19 of 2010/2011.

I took the (large) liberty of including finals series games at the same W=3, D=1, L=0 and marked the Grand Final as a draw (F/T 0-0). CCM have played 2 more (26) with one more finals appearance last year than Brisbane (24) who had a later bye within that 12 months and their mid-week game had been before it. They've already had their mid-week game this season.

Result (points per match played):
  • Mariners 1.923
  • Roar 1.916
The change made by a difference of one point, over the 24-26 games, is greater than the distance between us now. That close.
(Again with GF as above) head to head in that period: Wins Roar 2, CCM 1, 3 draws.

another interesting stat I'd like to see is consecutive weeks at 1st (I'll allow equal first, ie. rd 1 this year). Surely they have the record...probs for about 27 rd's in a row! This is the first time for a LONG time they haven't been in top spot... :D
I'll work it out later...unless someone beats me to it (a bit busy this week)
