Total Football just mentioned that there is a 26/27 year old Ukrainian player currently trialing with us.

Has anyone heard anything about this?

Who knows. Maybe the guy had visa issues in Italy and wanted to get some sunshine? Maybe he's sponsored by the Russian mafia and pays his way into squads? Name and details would help figure out the credentials.
And on the subject of international players, has any HAL club seen if they could trial a couple of those Iraqi Olympics players who went for refugee status prior to the Olympics qualifier?
