ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Transgender Inclusion in Cricket: University Research Project

Hi everyone:

I am a student at the University of South Australia, and I am posting here to see if you would be interested in participating in my short survey. I received permission from adz and this project has been approved by the University of South Australia's Human Research Ethics Committee Ethics Protocol 203610.

My research topic is exploring transgender inclusion in the AFL and Cricket Australia. This entails analysing policy documents, news media articles, and collecting and understanding fans thoughts and perspectives on this matter. To collect and understand fans views on transgender inclusion, I have created a survey that should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. The survey is completely voluntary, and if you decide to participate, you will remain entirely anonymous. The only information collected will be your gender, age range, Australian state of residence, and favourite cricket team. The main part of the survey will contain three open-ended questions that simply ask you your thoughts and perspectives on the inclusion of transgender athletes in cricket and broader sport.

I know you are probably wondering why I am on a football forum and asking about cricket. I have exhausted many of the cricket forums, and many fans of one sport are fans of other sports, or at least casual followers of another sport, so I think your thoughts on this topic are still very important. I would have liked to include many other sports in the research, but seeing as this is a Master's thesis, I had to limit the scope.

For more information about the study and your participation, please click the link to the survey:

so pat cummins decides he wants to be a girl . he can still bowl at 150 kph .
probably 20 k's quicker than any other woman in world cricket.
is that ok ? was he advantaged by being a man into adult hood .in terms of height and build ?

frankly it's not an ethics question . it's on the metrics .
florence griffith joyner holds the world record for 100m for a woman at 10.49 seconds.
this was achieved by steroids , which also killed her .
testosterone whether by needle or gender is still testosterone .

Least of all Cummins has had every advantage in the elite development systems so of course its unfair. Let alone the basic physiological advantages of height and testosterone.

I would suggest there is a definition difference between gender and sex.

If we say gender is fluid and according to the individual, and
sex is XX or XY chromosomes,
then the discussion has a frame of reference everyone can work within.

Clarity in language like this can make all the difference.

Thanks for the engagement everyone. And thank you to those who have filled out the survey. Still open if you want to share your thoughts!
