ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Three years, eh?

Your memories of that day? Stories, pictures etc?

For reference here's the Grand Final thread from those days: https://ccmfans.net/community/threads/grand-final-the-mighty-ccm-vs-wsw.5143/

P.S. let's keep the current mumbo-jumbo on the sidelines for this thread. "How far we've fallen etc" can be saved for other threads :soapbox:

I'll be honest - the whole day's a blur of memories now. I remember being at PJ's/Fox+Lion (whatever it's called) pre-game and the place was packed and heaving with yellow jerseys. A couple of bevs and a nervous walk along Driver Avenue to Allianz followed... then it was just a blur. I remember a giant black inflatable ball in the middle of the pitch, I remember screaming for 90 minutes standing next to my mum who did the same, and I remember the deafening roars, random hugging & shaking stands in the 44th and 67th minutes.

My favourite memory of the night is probably after having moved to the front of the bay awaiting the trophy lift... the build up our away end made til Hutch & Patty lifted the thing and that amazing sound when it finally went into the sky... that was the moment. :overheadl::vhappy:

you know after the elation of that win I had a sinking feeling that we were in for some hard times. now that we'd done it it was clear that players would be retiring, others would be looking to go overseas or would be poached and our coach had achieved all his goals. figured we were in for a rebuild and some hard times, but wow I had no idea just how hard it would get before things got better

Personally, I feel we've finished our time on the valley floor and the climb back to the pinnacle is starting. From
here on it's one eye on the goal - another trophy! It may be a while but as long as we keep climbing it'll be fun!

In our short history we've mainly been at the top - and that day was a real highlight and just reward. I remember it not really feeling real for a period afterwards

One thing I remember was the number of messages from non-Mariners fans congratulating us on finally getting there. I think we had most of the league (but not the FFA) behind us that day.

As I was a Heart fan back then the Mariners most definitely had the support of 99% of Heart's fan base from what I remember.

I was doing a bl**dy DB upgrade... I'd told the project that there was ONE weekend that I didn't want, so that's when they scheduled the work :(((
Watched most of the first half on a dodgy live stream in the office, trying not to get too loud, while waiting for the service provider to finish their bit.
Listening to the second half on the radio on the train, with a colleague who didn't seem to understand just how important it was to have both ear buds in... Coming into Hornsby station when the final whistle sounded - luckily the train was almost empty, so I didn't scare too many people ;)

Next time I'll f*****g quit if they make me work while we're winning a grand final!

Edit: Ypot

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
I have to say, the tears were rolling once that full time siren blew, more so because I didnt think it make it due to various things, but Mrs Recky and moi got there...what a day, what a buzz...and then Gosford turned up for the parade also very bonz
