ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Think Positive

OK, so its been well documented in various threads how 'miserable' our season has been. People are questioning Lawries' tactics, selections, choice as captain, and even whether he should hold his job. Some people even believe we will get the spoon next season.

But, believe it or not, there have been positives. IMHO the return of Bozza, aided by CCMFC, to competitive football, as well as the class of his performances is a positive. Matty breaking the dam wall and scoring time and time again. We found a new crowd favourite in D-MAC, we unearthed a future Socceroos star in Jedi( I know we lost him, but surely his performances where a huge positive).

Looking forward to the ACL, a chance for us to make an imprint on Asia, raise the profile of our club, and make ourselves a viable club for young Asian footballers in the future.

Sure, losing 5 in a row was a shit way to end the season, but it could be so much worse.

Could be worse, we could be a Newcastle Breakers supporter. Never saw my team make a playoff in all those years, watched it go bust once and then watched it ripped away. I guess those who followed Spirit have similar sorts of feelings but at least they made the playoffs some seasons.

So, if we are thinking positive, three out of four finals appearances is pretty good.

I guess some of the younger supporters never had a local club to follow and because they only support the top clubs in the EPL or Italy they think that that kind of success is normal.

It is only really normal for a handful of national clubs around the world.

Mate, we would have in 1999/2000 if Andy Harper could hit the side of a barn with a penalty (being kind due to libel laws), twice!  :p :-X :vomit:

Yes some perspective is due.

In my 53 years of following top Australian football my teams have made the finals 4 times (2 of them CCMFC) [if I discount my vicarious following of Zoran Maric's Adelaide City]

It's about time we had a positive thread. Things can only get better for the Mariners. Blitz the ACL and champions in V5!!  :pirashoot:

Really I think there is at least 6 places next year that will be worse than where we finished this season that we may well end up occupying.

Oh goody.

A thread where we just say nice things regardless of what most of us seem to be thinking.

???

No, more a thread where we can discuss the positives that have come from this season.

Ha! I've seen both good and bad supporting Everton, and some of the bad has been really bad.

+10 MM does the radio commentary so we don't have to listen to him speak at home games!
