ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

The trumpet blows!

i will start with the norm.....I.M.H.O.............

the fact since returning this year i have been sitting in bay 17, i understand my opion is rather more humble then ever but.

seriously the trumpet stinks. im sorry to the kid who blows so hard but if your reading this it aint what the marinators need. the constant increas in pitch and speed with some of the chants on sunday did nothing but harm the effects.
id like to hear the opion of some of the more experienced lads as its the first time ive noticed it and as im not so up to date these days i dont know if its been tried and failed befor?
it just semmed so amateur from across the bay, a lil try hard infact. I aint at a cat empire concert im at the footy.

a couple of quick positives though. the long rolling chants are brilliant, with the drums making up for a lil lack in voices about the place.pretty impressed really with the difference from season one(my last) till now. expected though i guess, but none the less impressive.

Apologies for all spelling and grammar*

Sometimes the trumpet is good, but agreed that it does hamper some chants.

All we need now is a triangle and a conductor  and the marinators will be better than the london symphony orchestra ;)

Keep the trumpet

Stick it up your ass if you play the last post again

as long as its curbed in some description................free range with lips like that and the kid could ruin everything.

I reckon we get rid of it, i went down to the front of 17 for a little bit last game to see what is was like, and honestly, the trumpet was annoying. Cat empire ftw!

i think the man behind the pipes makes the difference. never over does it. dont know him personally but i think he does alot more for the atmos then the horn.

trumpet has its moments. shouldn't be overused. I'd rather he kept playing it than starting 'let's go mariners'. yes mate I started a new song over that last week because everyone hates it.

way to boss the bay dude. i cringe with the majority when that chant gets started. reminds of the time my mum wrongfully took me to see the kings in about 94...........i liked the N.B.A. mum!

trumpet is just over done. an over-used novelty. it has lost its novelty factor.

as for the pipes... the guy just rocks up every now and then, everyone is like 'yayy... pipes!' and then he sneaks off. its perfect.

worst chant is by FAARR 'you fat bastard you fat basted'. the keepers are tall and skinny! they need to move around in the shower to get wet!

Wellington is OK 'cause you can replace "fat bastard" with "sheep shagger", and "Aaaaaaarghhhhh" with "Baaaaaaaahh".

With more witty suggestions like that for other teams, or if a keeper really is fat, then IMO the chant has more meaning.
