ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Back in October, John Schappert, Corporate Vice President of Xbox LIVE, Services and Software, announced during his Tokyo Game Show keynote that the New Xbox Experience will ship to Xbox 360's around the world (in 26 countries, localized in 11 languages) on November 19th 2008...today.

http://www.engadgethd.com/2008/10/29/hd-netflix-streaming-comes-to-xbox-360-first  <--Haven't been able to find if this is relevant to Aus.

http://au.xbox360.ign.com/dor/articles/924651/xbox-experience-video/videos/xbox_exp_noisetest_102908.html <--ign.com play Fable off the disc, show you a decibel-ometer...and then install it and play the same sequence off the hard-drive showing the decibel-ometer.

I just downloaded the new XBox Experience and it's installing it right now...I now have a "Mii" which XBox are calling an "Avatar" but is so blatanlty a rip off of the Nintendo Mii it's funny...I played through a game of FIFa 09 with the tv on mute listening to the noise of the console as it read the game. I've now installed FIFa 09 onto the HD...be warned, it needs 6gb...and all I can hear now is the fan. Quite literally thats it. Now for games like GOW2, Fallout..all of those graphics intense games this could be a quite a boon..especially come summer and do wonders in helping prevent the dreaded RROD.

The downside...FIFA needs 6Gb...how much is GOW2 or similar games going to need? geeezus. And from what I can see online the 120Gb HD is around the $230RRP mark.

I don't like the new menu system. It seems un-necessarily convoluted. Overall I think it's what Vista was to XP...a lot prettier with not much more functionality. Having said that, if you dont upgrade yo get signed out of XBL. So theres not a whole lot of choice.

Who else has gotten this update yet?

I haven't yet, but was waiting for it to download around 8pm, got bored & did something else. I saw a few online articles which made it look really flash, but by the sounds of things, it is anything but.

I know we bought a 120Gb HD for around $140 from JB Hifi about 6 months ago. Where are you looking online? I recommend you don't buy anything off an official xbox site, you can get official stuff cheaper in JB & EB Games stores.

only just fired the xbox up after getting the update, looks ok so far, but prefer the old 1.. hate to be 1 of the people who bought a theme off the marketplace, seems useless now.. or is there a way to have the themes still

My theme is still in place...its sort of in the background now.

I just googled for it and found a couple of websites with the price...didn't look at what sites they were though.
