ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

The 2009 A-league Finals Series

I think most of us have come to the conclusion that the mariners have very slim chances of making the top 2 this season, therefor meaning that the grand final will most likely be in melbourne adilaide or maybe queensland.
when we make the grand final (as we should) who will be traverling to the game??
im hoping that the game wont be in adilaide as that would be the most expensive to go to. :)

Depends where it is and if I can get the time off work. Melbourne or Brissie are possibilities, but Adelaide I doubt it very much I'll be able to afford it.

If we make the post season cup final, I will be there come hell or high water.

(Fairly irrelevant really but you never know)

I am going to where ever the grand final is if we get into it. If in Melbourne, will look at driving if we can get a couple of other people to come along too - cheaper otherwise fly. Adelaide, will fly. QLD, will drive as have relo's up there that I can crash with for free :D and will also see if a couple of other people will like to go up with us.

At this point in time I think we should focus on making the finals first. If Wellington win in Sydney in 2 hours time (as they have done so for the last 2 years running), then we might be in deep trouble. We play on Friday in Melbourne, if we lose there, the Nix will know that 1 point will put them into the pole position going into the final round (Adelaide have historically struggled in New Zealand, and have even lost to the Knights).

This is a position I do not want to be in. Fingers crossed Sydney's youthful line-up do us a favour tonight, Perth win, and we win at the E-Dome next week to secure post season football.

Brisbane would be the cheapest destination.. so that option would be good.  Followed by Melbourne, then Adelaide.

Fingers crossed we make the finals hey.

I could see us in the Minor Semi with Queensland.

I could see us taking 150+ supporters for that trip given how many we get up there for regular season games. Might not seem that many in the grand scheme of things but you have to remember the short notice for this as well.

In Wellington they managed a draw and a win last season.

Even if Adelaide United have the Premiership wrapped up before going up to Gosford, would you expect them to field a weakened side? Or would they want to go full out and get momentum ahead of the finals, seeing as it cost them in V1.

They would certainly field a 'weakened' side. With the amount of games they've had to play, Aurelio would be dead keen to give a few key guys a rest.

But Adelaide have very good depth. Their 2nd eleven is not much worse than their first eleven - kind of like us in that way. And I'd probably rather play a Travis Dodd who has his mind elsewhere than a Robbie Younis with everything to prove. A weakened side may not be so.

you know how they take buses to the newcastle trips is it possible for melbourn or maybe queensland that we take a bus or two down.
like i would be willing to pay $100 for one itll save like $50 on air and everyone could like take tents and we could find a caravan park????
just a suggestion

So to save $50 you would replace a couple-hour flight with an overnight trip, and still pay for camping & food on top of that, + all the hassle and gear required?

Even if the flight saves you 10hrs and costs $50 extra, that's $5 per hour. Well worth it IMO; I'll fly.
