ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Sydney away

I've never done Sydney away before (live interstate) but will be there on November 19 - got tickets in the away end and staying the night in Sydney. Hoping you guys can give me the rundown on everything. Specifically interested in what the pre-match pub of choice is for Mariners fans, what time you'll all be there, what you're all doing in terms of transport to and from the game, and whether you just stay in you're allocated section in the away area or tend to congregate somewhere else? Cheers.

Generally train to Central, rock into the KB hotel on Foveaux st, drink, walk up the hill to the stadium, drink, watch CCM win, follow the masses to a pub, drink, train home, drink. Food goes in there somewhere, too.

best match of the year.

second best ... best is Sydney V Mariners at Bluey ..

The walk from Central station to Aussie stadium is a great walk ... go into the Mariners bars .... on the way home if you are feeling a tad hungery ... either turn left when you leave Aussie and go to Fox about half a k ... or when you get to central keep walking for anothwer half a K [maybe a tad more] and go to China Town...

I agree with dibo.

I love catching the train down and seeing the KB full of yellow when you come around the corner into Foveaux St.

Another visit to the KB, post match, tops off a great afternoon/evening.

There's something about away trips that galvanize the supporters. Those of us that dont get involved in the antics in Bay 16, suddenly find our singing voice when we play away from home. Love it... love every second of it!!!!!!

KB/central station are a good half hour walk from SFS yeh? How late do you usually leave it to walk to the stadium?

Thanks for the help, you'll most likely see a couple of unfamiliar faces in the pub!

I used to do that walk in my younger days,it`s a nightmare uphill walk(probably a 5 schooner walk)
It`s easier & quicker to walk back to Central & catch the bus.

For mine though I`ll be going to Fox studios.Easy parking & a lot closer.
The beer might be dearer though.

The first call on the away day is the KB Hotel which is in Foveaux Street on the left side as you go east toward the SFS, two blocks in. Foveaux Street as almost opposite the Elizabeth Street exit from the suburban platforms at Central Station. It is between 20mins and 35mins straight walk from the SFS (depends on age, health, and sobriety). Watch out for heartbreak hill - 20m of unexpected hell.

My apologies for this one ... three, yes three, other functions booked for me that day - all before I had the draw! My daughter may represent me.

Pretty sure they haven't got any computers with them so might be hard to answer. Tip....follow the noisy, happy and drunken (judging by tv pictures) supporters out of the gate.

hint: the intarwebs are available via your PHONE these days

basically do a reverse trip from the station to the ground, e.g. any pubs on the way to the KB should have Mariner fans!!

Great to see the mariners take over the KB postgame! Unfortunately after a long night of consumption we needed to leave and go somewhere with food, thanks to everyone for an awesome time, FYI we were the 2 randoms without colours at the back of the standing group. If any of you come on an away trip to my home town (Perth) shout out and i'll try to help you enjoy it as best I can!!
