ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

More referring to the comments like how we are going to contain certain players and speculating on matchups etc.

I'm positive that our boys will play well, both today and hopefully (if we make it) in the Grand Final. Not counting my chickens - just believing that on any day we can beat any other ALM team. It is a long time since we have had so many youngsters making the step up. I'd love us to win the big show but even today's game will be a challenge. Comparing to 10 years - we had some youngsters then - but we had more hardheads to help them.

A lot if these youngsters are learning together and gaining experience in finals football. Hopefully they can take it all the way. But I'm actually more excited by our 'production line'. If we can predominantly keep this team together we will be a serious contender for the AFC Cup and the Australia Cup and then again next season. For some reason I'm thinking we will retain a lot of the squad and we will see a smaller churn in our squad this year.

Can we stop talking as if we have already made the GF please...
Just speculating, definitely not taking it for granted. They are a good side who have a couple of players capable of scoring big goals.
In some ways this game is our GF, weirdly I reckon I'll be less excited about the GF in Parra. When did we last have a full stadium? So pumped for this and it's game day, yewwwww!!

Very excited but nervous for this one. How many times have things gone wrong for us over the years? In 3 matches we have shown we are the better team but anything can happen on the day and i am a naturally pessimistic football fan. As Red says in The Shawshank Redemption " Hope is a dangerous thing" and i hope complacency has not set in. I know how good our team is and i wish i could be more optimistic but it's just not my nature.

That is why running finals in football or in cricket is a dumb idea. Anything can happen in a single game.
I see the finals only as a financial sugar hit for the powers that be with SFA from a sold out crowd to the Club. It is the reason why we had a 6 team final series with only 10 in the comp.
As far as I am concerned City were the top team this year and we came second.
There is already a cup competition for those who want the excitement of a knockout comp.

You can have more than one cup competition though. FA cup and League cup come to mind.

You could argue the the finals is a league cup with the shit teams excluded.

I'm sure we'll sell some merch and our new owner gets to experience a full ground, that's actually one of the things I'm most pleased with. It's not a financial reward but it's an experience. It's not lost on me at all what part Rich has played in us getting to this point and I'm grateful. Hoping this might influence a decision to stick with us.
