Game day -2 and no thread as yet, so how about we get the discussion going?

No SS due to his trial with LAFC but everyone else should be available. Should Staj shake up the sauce bottle a bit to throw Rudan off, or do you stick with a winning side? The latter has arguably been our undoing earlier in the season, so I wonder what he and folk on here are thinking?

We are heading down for this one, so hopefully the boys can do us proud and bring home the choccies.

COYY! :overheadl:

I think he has to stick with the plan but maybe mix things up a bit with how we get the ball in to the box. It's far too predictable, seeing us go down to the corner and float crosses in. Landing those beside Durante or Kurto wont go well so we need to pick our spaces better..On the break Durante may be a liability and their back line is disrupted by injury.

They love to park the bus so IMO we need to pressure them early and look for the lead, a slow start will favour them more than it does with others.

I've been on this since early in the season - our primary mode of attack is poor crosses into the box to strikers who either aren't there, are short, or are Simon. It doesn't work and I don't know why we persist with it as the primary attack method.

Sames. It's the biggest bug bear I have. Our strikers never seem to go to a post and for me you always want someone going back stick.

Kone and Risdon returning makes them more formidable however both may not play a full game. I'm not getting excited until I see Staj be able to lift the team for a back to back win (or good performance). Expecting us to struggle, they were a bit unlucky in our first meeting and will be tough in Vic. At least a point would be a good result IMO but we have only drawn 1 match so far (same as SFC) so chances are all 3 or nothing.

Really?? The only thing he's done all season is to get knocked over last Sunday. I'll admit, his ball-chasing forced Broxham to be stupid & put a hand on him...
To be fair SS game time hasnt been a lot lately either. We're going to need some sort of attacking sub on the weekend. I don't think Simon is the answer but he will likely get a run if we play 2 strikers again. Then GG or Nisbet in the mids. 3rd could be anywhere but weemac could be in with a shot at it. Or Ruiz Dias.

Totally agree Waspish,Oar probably had 10 or so crosses all of which were intercepted by Victory or they missed the target.
We need to mix it up for sure on both sides of the pitch.
In Oars` case float some crosses in but, have the forwards attacking the near post ie. be first to the f..king ball! but also get someone wide to pick up the overhit cross.
On other occasions have Oar attack the byline inside the box and cut the ball back to the oncoming attacker,
Similar for when Miller is attacking.
It`s simple, basic attacking play, but something we do so poorly...

Thats something that Kruse, the Nix and Adelaide have all done well at various times with a lot of success. Our guys can do it we just need to mix things up a bit.

Yeah while only one act it was a big one.
Showed the young ones never give up but also he’s been getting splinters from the grandstand not even the bench. Gets one chance and made something. While i think he’s washed up he can still show something to the kids and earn some of his wage

No thanks. Hand out those minutes to blood another young gun. ie; DRD.
I hope the boys are super confident after last weeks kinda lucky yet super well grinded win.

DRD can be hot or cold. Give reward were it is due. Judas earnt some minutes. The bloke is levels above DRD if he is interested.

how does falling over in the box earning a pen therefore warrant extra minutes?
The bloke is 33, a visa player and has not been able to break into the match squad all season. Is there any other visa player in the league in that situation? It’s not a matter of interest. His days are well past him, everyone knows that. The sooner he’s gone the better.

He didn’t fall over Michael.
He is here earning good money. Stupid not to use him if we need him. DRD had one good cameo and will get chances soon enough.
