Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

You are kidding me!!!! Beaten in 4 by Robin Soderling!!

The truly great Roger Federer now has the biggest Window of Opportunity of his WHOLE CAREER. Keep winning, and he becomes the complete package, picking up Slams at Wimbledon, Flushing Meadows (named that way because Queens is a toilet, btw), Melbourne Park and Roland Garros.

Of modern players, I believe only the surprising Andre Agassi has won the lot (interestingly, wife Steffi Graf, who is still in possession of a killer body, won a OLYMPIC Gold Medal Slam). Put money on their kids being handy on a tennis court.

Suddenly, the most boring Tennis Slam suddenly becomes fascinating.

wow, nadal hadnt lost 1 set since 2007 final vs Federer
that was 32 sets in a row, let alone wins (31/31 wins)

come on federer- this is now the most important + best chance at Roland Garros...expect Nadal to come back even stronger (if you can imagine)(he will win Wimbledon)

Federer came back from 2 sets down last night against Tommy Haas. For a moment we were looking toward a French Open final without Nadal or Federer for the first time in many years. It's now Rogers for the taking but he will have to improve to win it.

FWIW, Steffi is the last player - male or female - to win a Grand Slam (singles) in the same calendar year. No male singles player has won a Grand Slam in the same calendar year since Rod Laver (1969). Source: Wikipedia.

I seriously doubt that Steffi and Andre's kids will end up pro tennis players. I suppose they'll get into the game a bit but probably go no further than some grade college stuff or the like. I doubt they'll have the same drive that made both Steffi and Andre work so hard for the success they had. The kids' simply won't have to.....

I hope they end up being very balance kids who can properly benefit from the wealth that is around them rather than wasting it all later on in life.

Another big thing to come out of the french open an aussie is actually winning. Sam Stosur dominated that romainan girl last night to make the semi finals which is a great achievement espically considering the state of Australian tennis at the top level right now.

It will be interesting to see how much she moves up the rankings now with this perfomance, even with the way she is playing she might even make the final
