Brisbane are our bogey team, with or without Ange... pantload of confidence going into this.

gonna be a tough game. Wouldn't be surprised if Brisbane get the better of us. They win 3-0 and Mulvey says he is unhappy with how they played, which says a lot I think. Still got all those talented players that beat us in some big game or something a few years ago (my memory is hazey).

If we can switch on we should get the job done. I'll be happy with a draw from this to be honest.

Home game. Champions. Our form is growing. Our squad is growing. Our cohesion is growing.
Bogey team smogey team - stats are made to be broken.

Roar are a good side. But we are an excellent one, and have nothing to fear from them or anyone else in this league.

Brisbane look to be going good but the only top team they have played is Victory and they lost to them 1-0.
If Mariners sort out their defense and stop conceding early goals they should give Roar a hard time.

How are the Mariners though, two games fighting back from two goals down. Never say die team spirit, love it!

It's going to be tough without WeeMac and Storm Boy.
I almost hope the All Whites don't make it so we don't lose our guys again during the season.
I say almost, for their sakes I hope they make it.

I still feel like we're missing an innate understanding of where everyone's supposed to be... But it seems to be fairly widespread this year, so with a bit of luck we won't be the only ones hurt by it. It feels like I see a lot of players heading for the ball at the same time, fighting each other as well as the opposition to get to it, in particular Flores, Hutch and Monty seem to do this quite a bit. This often enough ends up in either the opposition player getting the ball or us getting the ball with the three "open" players all standing in the same area, with nowhere to go. Haven't seen enough of Brisbane to say whether they suffer from it too, but I can't say I think their game this weekend was all that pretty either. For all the talk of how "They're back" etc. etc. I have to say that it's more the "bogey team" mentality thing that scares me, than their actual team. They look decidedly scrappy, compared to Brisbane two seasons back.
So... I think we can beat them, yes, especially if there really is no Berisha, but I'm not certain that we will... Midfield needs to get it's act together, we need to move away again, from the mentality that has us playing the ball all the way back to Pasfield every second time... And Pasfield needs to not try to play the ball, but just pass it as needed... This last one he had certainly learned for the Jest game, so perhaps there IS improvement :)

I'm otherwise committed on Sunday and I'm both glad and sad about that... Would DEARLY love to see us whoop some Roar butt, but am not sure I could stand the heart break of another loss to them...

Last night they said the mariners only team whose Kiwi's won't play this week due to agreements to move Wellington game forward & a few other agreements.

Because we play 5pm Sunday we loose Wee Mac & Storm

Although I didn't watch the Roar game, I caught the highlights and looks like their chances were a bit more fortunate than the plethora of chances the Heart seemed to generate, plus as expected Brisbane were more efficient in finishing.

Fingers cross Berisha doesn't play, hate that guy so much I'd probably pop a blood vessel if he scored against us again. Plus it lowers their chances of winning if he doesn't play.

this is going to be a tough one - mainly for the backs without roux I reckon. expecting trent to move out right and seip back in the cb
that said the boys always seem to lift and do brilliantly for tougher games (and trip up on the games they're expected to win)
still hitting form but it's getting closer. the first 15mins of that last game gave real glimpses of where they're going and it was awesome

Need to be totally switched on from 1st second. Otherwise we could be in a world of pain. The longer the game goes without them edging ahead, the better our chances for 3 points, I think. Praying for Arnie to be at his cunning best.

Big test for JP - Redemption & show his made of the right stuff or the pine never to be seen again.

Looks a good shot stopper but not so great with his feet or crosses.

Seip is a rb/cb so I'd say he would fit right in there & Morton to the bench.

Sains will go out on the right. Has played there before, and is supposedly his natural position (although he has played far better at CB than at RB).

Got the new Football Manager game today, they still have Sainsbury listed as a right back for his main position. Right. Someone clearly has never seen a Mariners game.

Telegraph has a little article on JP & Arnie (can't find on net) - Page 107 Selection Q's for Arnie.

Says will inspect JP at training - An event like that can dent the confidence - Will keep an eye on him at training.

Hints pretty strongly that Reddy is a real chance to be the Keeper on Sunday.
