ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

R rating for video games.

The Australian Government is asking for public consultation regarding the introduction of an R rating for video games.

So if youre sick of our games being nerfed because our government fails to accept that gamers are not 12 year olds who cant see a drop of digital blood without running to mummy with post traumatic stress. This is your time to stand up and be counted!

Have been waiting for this!!! I will gladly write an essay on why they should bring in an R-Rating.

I think they'll do it, but to placate the families lobbies etc. they'll need to go through a thorough process. They'll go softly softly but they'll get there.

I really don't see what the problem is. You can see more violence in a M15+ movie. I guess they think that it is different as the gamer is also controlling it, not just watching. Although I've been playing Assassin's Creed II lately, and while I'm running around assassinating people, etc I think it is fun in the game. But I'm not about to go do it in the real world.

They really can't use it as an excuse for people being violent. Yes, I'm sure it gives people ideas, but so does the internet, movies & T.V. People are responsible for their own actions, not the video games they play or the T.V. and Movies they watch.

P.S. As an avid reader, I have read books available in my High Schools library that are more morbid and violent than anything I have seen on the big screen so far.

This is a brilliant point.

I also read. Too much if you ask my wife. Her nights are constantly intterupted by all night reading sessions. (how hard core am i?)

But its true, if i was that way inclined i would be carrying out mass murder to the tune of the character Dread (Aussie, by the way)from Tad Williams's Otherland sooner than flouncing around in 11th century garb with twin blades on my wrists.

I don't see what the problem is other than kids spend too much time sitting on their arses in front of the tv playing violent video games instead of actually running around outside playing at 'soldiers' etc and pretending to shoot/kill Germans and Japs like us oldies did!!

What really gets to me is all new gen consoles have parental lock controls. Parents would generally buy consoles for their kids who are under 15, and if they are a little pro active they can create a pin that games of a certain rating require to be entered to load. Parents can ban thier kids from playing R18+ games but not other classifications.

If they just read the manual it will tell them how!! Nobody except me reads the manual :(

But anyway, that is one of the major points FOR the R18+ Classification. Parents can't say that their kids MIGHT get their hands on an 18+ game and play it if the console is able to be locked! Not an excuse anymore.
