Good thing to get it out of the way now instead of in a month

7-0 full time.

Second half was a bit of a non event apart from Dutchy getting a bit aggro at one of the CCS players who went in studs up on one of the Mariners players.

Crowd was 1400. Apparently 800 was the break even mark, so I think the club would be happy

From memory Duke scored 2, Hutcho scored a screamer (reminiscent of his first of 2 goals @ Sydney a few seasons ago), Kwas, Gibbs, McBreen (I think) and Hearfield - not in that order.

Bernie went off injured in the first half.
Pedj played half a game and was angry for the entire 45 mins
Duke played 60 mins. That kid's got class
Hearfield played up front in the first half then dropped back to replace Pedj at half time. Great first half but unsighted in the 2nd half.
Pellers was busy in the first, faded away in the 2nd
Hutcho looks fit and keen.
Rose had acres of space and opportunities in the 2nd half but didn't capitalise on anything
Kwas was Kwas.
Rogic was solid.

Starting line up was something like

Ryan
Pedj - Sainsbury - Dutchy - Rose
Pellegreno - Hutch
Rogic
Hearfiled- Duke - Bernie (Kwas)

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Ryan, Pedj replaced at half time. Pasfield for Ryan, McBreen for Pedj. Duke replaced by Gibbs at 60 mins.

(Worst match report ever... lol)

A bit of a mystery really.
There was no ground announcer so any of the new players were a bit of a guess.
No 19 (Duke I think scored 2)
Sainsbury 1
Hutcho 1
Kwassie 1
Hearfield 1
McBreen?? 1 not sure on this one.

They played southern first half. The opposition, athough they tried hard basically chased shadows for 45mins.
Second half they played Northern who looked a lot sharper & were a much better side.

Ibini got injured & Kwas came on.
Matty didn`t have much to do (1st half)
Passfield looked like a licorice allsort with his pink shirt, black shorts & socks & lime green boots
Bojic & Rose looked sharp.
Dutchy & Sainsbury were solid but never tested.
Pelle was Cabbage.
Rogic looked sharp without doing anything outstanding.
Hutcho was Hutcho
Hearfield was ok.
Not sure on the wide left midfielder
Duke I think it was looked very sharp.
Bernie appeared to have bulked up a bit.Played ok.but didn`t really take them on.
Kwas apart from his goal it was the bad Kwas on show tonight.

Overall it was great to be at the football again but the quality just wasn`t there. Also it would be much better if more of an effort was put in to make it a special night. The association was on show here but really "who cared".
They played in grey & black shirts (bloody awful)& wore their club socks & shorts so it looked like a bag of crap side.
How about selecting the Premier league side after the first round & giving them a few training sessions together.
Then present them with a decent kit (which they get to keep) in recognition of being selected.
It should be an honour to be selected to represent your association against the Mariner`s.Unfortunately it looked like nothing more than a training session.

Bar staff were complaining saying they were only expecting 300... they ran out of most beers... wonder where they got those estimates from...

my favourite moment of the night came from kwas, whilst laying on the ground juggles and flicks the ball up to the select player for the throw in and collectively everyone in the crowd breaks into conversation about how he can do that but cant score goals

Pellers will be doin a bit of fishin this year, the deeper, more central he plays, the more wayward his passes, i still smile at the Kwas hate six seasons later (for me), bernie and Rose were workin well till bernie came off, Rogic still can't defend but hey, what's new.

edit> btw Sainsbury looked very tidy imho
