ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Is it true that this kid is training at CCM.I heard from up in Brisbane that he was playing for a Premier league Club that was relegated and never won a game. For christ sake do we need anymore well connected crap players in the a league or do we have to start bringing in good players not player with good connections and alot of training.

Only seen him play once which was against Melbourne victory in the youth team and from what i saw, he was far below par compared to fellow strikers Duke and Appiah

Yeah sounds like that Gol Gol Mehbratu from Gold Coast United apparently was dumped from quite a few clubs including state teams and apparently got his fijian and png mates to go and see the coach with his brother to see if they could get rid of a striker so they could put him in the first team. After coach denied him of the spot he went and spun a tale and got an a league spot.Doesnt add up does it.Apparently the striker they tried to push out went over to England after not playing for three months and spent alot of time with a league one club until the club had financial trouble. Why do we continue to waste money and time with these players that will amount to nothing even with all these oportunities and placements. Think about the league ending up no where!!!!

I havent seen young Farina in action
But didn't we already reject Alan Davidson's kid? That gave me comfort in feeling that we don't pick players for their last name?
Unless Arnold has a really close relationship to Frank?

Every kid that has connections is accused playing on his name.
I think Arnie is above nepotism.
Give the kid a go.
Who cares if his name is Farina or Smith,if he`s good enough he`ll make it on his merits.

Agree but there arent merits and he still gets a go, pretty sad for the league. Its like Taj Minniecon is basically finished as a player and Jets are paying him $130 000 a season, once in the loop its like incest, everyone turns a blind eye and it continues to the detriment of the league. We cant stop overseas laughing at the league if we basically look like we dont give a stuff.

Why are the Jets paying Tahj Minniecon $130,000 when he plays for the gold coast?

I dont really see the problem in someone using their contacts to get a trial?

Who wouldnt?

If he is shit he wont get a contract.

I would find it amazing that even using his "contacts" he would be happy to move from qld to nsw for a part time NYL contract. If he is happy to do that he must be intending on working hard to get a full contract.

So you couldnt score a trial Mario?

Also being in a shit team does not make a player shit. In 6 a side a couple of years back a team lost all its games despite having easily the best player in the comp.

Everyone who plays all age im sure has played many teams who have 1 or 2 players who could be playing 1sts or higher

How are we percieved to "not give a stuff"? Have you seen the youth leagues in Europe? The Youth Leagues over seas are full of imports at least we can say we are promoting local talent.

1.Taj contract over so moving to the jets.(got a shit load to play NYL)Apparently not wanted in gold coast.
2.Jordan isnt a local and people talk about quality or the lack of,so while overseas depend on sponsorship dollars and dont cover up anything because normally they'll finish a coach mid season at every level cause there is always someone to replace a player and a coach,we tend to cover up by saying things like this player has alot of potential which translates into:- were trying to set him up in a club overseas so we'll sugar coat it until we cap him so they think he s better than he is and then he ends up back over here in the a league AGAIN.(on loan????)
3.Mate I dont need a trial, not here and not desperate.
4. This recently happened when a player was positioned in Europe and then it was well know he didnt play and then when a relative begged not to finish him off he got some lets say fellow coaches to keep positioning him in clubs on loan to keep him until the last club ended poorly and then no-one would touch him and we could say all the other players were crap and he was still one of the good ones BUT that crap does work there and that is why people align themselves with clubs because they know the clubs will do right by the members.Until that happens I can say I've heard them laugh and they dont bother with the league unless they have no where else to go and no to pay them.

You can throw out all the supposed inside info you like, simple fact is if the kid is good enough he'll get a gig, if he's not he won't.

Quit spinning shit on here, you just look like a bitter prick with an agenda against the kid. I know nothing about him at all, and don't much care - the managers will look after it, and given we're top of both leagues I'll put my trust in their judgement.

Jog along sunshine.
