I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
G'day,
for those amongst us who dont have Ruperts black box in the living room, weve had to endure Murray and Foster for yonks on the tele, now that One:HD has a football show what do you think of the show

for mine...the host is fine and groovy, and the content is good, all the major leagues given their five minutes worth and the socceroos get their bit..BUT..David Zdrilic and Old moneybags Aloi$$i as the panel...AND moneybags replaced Kosmina after one week....och well...still more footy on FTA tele is always a good thing

I like aloisi met him a couple times when he was on the Coast and he seemed quite a smart guy ... My limited experiences with him were very positive .. he talks well on radio and seems a decent sorta of bloke .. As for David No Brain enough said...

Aloisi is definately better than zdonk on the panel IMO.

Aloisi will have a career in punditry, he is well spoken, semingly intelligent enough and i am informed not bad looking.

and marketable to the non football community by virtue of "THAT" penalty.

Zdonk,Slater etc will be history once the game becomes more mainstream.

Watched it last night .. it is getting better ... IMO Alloisi is real good value... I like the host he makes the show about the subject being discussed not about him... as for david he may grow into it ... but he is a long way away from being an expert or coming across that way...

Is positive to have a show on australian tv talking about a-league and oz football and discussing it, without pushing an agenda and talking it down. Take note sbs!

On that note, what was with Foz talking to the FFA TD in the herald sunday?

It is like everything fiz thinks needs done, the FFA knows and is attempting to fix. The TD said as much.

Yet, the difference is Foz has no idea how to do it.

He complains about the coaching, yet does not say the ffa pumps money into a td, and coaching conferences etc.

How does he think these things come about?

Does the fact that Foz got all the right answers about his clarsh style of football he wants from the TD mean that he will leave it to the ffa or give the TD 2 minutes to effect a generational change that wont be measurable for 10-15 years?

I wouldnt bet on it. Cue more dribble from foz

According the the age, one was looking to get 1 a-league game a week on the anti siphoning list. But has slowed in that approach.

That means little with the current contract up soon, It does leave one as a possible buyer of rights for 1 game a week

After listening to Les, Craig and Franny bag the crap out of the A League yesterday, I'm glad we now have an alternative FTA program.  While some of their protests might have been valid, their tone was overwhelmingly negative, as it has been since the start....

Gotta agree on the SBS thing ... watch Fozzie's wrap up of the grand final... he starts off saying ..."look lets be honest the game was crap... but the promotion was excellent"

SBS is no friend of the A-League or the  FFA .... it was Bozza who said ..."the enemy within "... and said we all know who I am talking about....

SBS ... Sour Bitter Shits they have been called but they are in a turf war with Fox ... Les wants the NSL back...

Agree. Imagine if NRL/AFl journos spent as much time rubbishing their game.

SBS have to realise that every time they rubbish football, there is an AFL/NRL journo also rubbishing football, whilst there are another 50-100 journos promoting league and aussie rules.

If it wasnt for SBS, we wouldnt have the massive eurosnob factor to deal with.

The FFA need to get a game on mainstream FTA. If One gets it, then the game will be promoted on One. It will get more broadcast time on ten sport, and more column inches on affiliated media.

Without FTA we will have a shrinking league, and eventually even the sponsors we have now, will realise that we just dont have the reach to justify their expense. On FTA that reach in far greater.

If fox get their way, and it looks like they have, no aleague will be on the anti siphon list, and there will be no sharing of the telecast rights with fta. They have warned the FFA and government of the lessened value of the aleague to Fox if not a 100% package. Of course there's self interest from fox with that line, but that's their present stance. What's good for the league in the long term, might not marry in with what's good for Fox. The socceroos are a different matter and will be separate, according to political commentators.

Socceroos need to be on FTA. Anything less lessens their product, and football in general
