ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Newcastle Uni Student Card

Does anyone know if full time students at Newcastle have 'full time' on their student card, i'm doing full time hours but it doesn't mention part time or full time on the card. Will this be enough to get student price?

Cheers

Pretty certain that they don't. There is no way of telling if they are full time or part time unless they show you their enrolment. Even then they can drop subjects and go from full time to part time.

You will get away using your student card in some places, but others want the transport sticker on the student card to show you are "in need" or a full time without full time employment.

Other places do deals with the university's respective student association/union and will want you to show them their card for a discount.

Short answer - it depends on the business giving the discount.

hey mate

This is basically repeating most of what Mick said...but maybe one or two differences.

From my understanding
All students of the Unversity of Newcastle have a student card.
ALL FULL TIME  students are allowed half fare for buses + trains.
However you must have the transport sticker.
That's what differentiates us from part time.
Although I suppose there are a lot of full time students who dont have a transport sticker because they drive.
Like Mick said it will depend on the business...realistically the only way you can tell you are fulltime is from the stricker

Ticketek...I've never ever ever had a problem with ordering Student tickets. For 2 years I did it, and wasn't even a student (I just worked on a shite wage, and students earnt more than me on Centrelink...). I have a student card now, and doesn't say anything about FT or PT.

But they reserve the right to check anytime they want to...
