In my humble opinion the two most important positions on the field are the DM & AM...

In Musty, Rojic & Perez we have had arguably the three best number 10 in Hal.... over it's history OK OK this is on a Mariner forum...

Hand on heart not the other thing ... who would you pick... as the best No 10 .... no disrespect to Tommy P would have loved to see him with the same squad we have had over the last three seasons... with no disrespect I have left Tommy P out ...

But it's TOMMY P! How can you leave him out of a "Best Mariners AM" debate.

Very hard but TBH as good as Tommy P was hand on heart not the other thing me thinks he was not in the same class as Musty, Rojic & Perez...

Would loved to have seen Tommy play with weeMac, Olly as his wide mids with Dutchie as the sweeper and Griffo as the DM... Rose & Pedj as wide running backs ... but alas never saw Tommy with that kinda class around him ..

Tommy P helped me fall in love with the Mariners... but in my humble opinion, Perez was our best #10. If only we got value for money from him... what a pity. I wonder how the GF against Roar would've turned out had Perez been fit.

The things I love about Perez was the quick return of the pass. Players would pass Perez the ball, drawing 2, sometimes three players to him. Patricio immediately passed the ball back to where it came from, and low and behold, that player was in acres of space.

I also enjoyed those moments when he ran at the defence. It was very much like weemac on the weekend. I love players who have the skills and the balls to run, at pace, at the defence.

Perez glided with the ball like no other player we have ever had.

Gumps powered foward but Perez was like a hovercraft with the ball stuck to his foot.

Musti > Perez.

Perez would dance through the opposing midfield looking a million bucks. He was probably the most spectacular player we've had with the ball at his feet. The problem is, while he's waltzing, the opposing back 4 is quietly closing up angles and opportunities and the available passes disappear.

Musti on the other hand would take a touch, turn, pass, move on, receive the ball again, find another pass and then get to the edge of the area to pick up scraps or watch as someone else gets the assist.

He probably got more 'second last passes' than anyone in the league because he finds people in space who can then make the last pass with less pressure on them. And it all happened in the blink of an eye - terrific little player.

McGlinchey was in that sort of form on Saturday, his pass to Sterjovski before the 6th goal was just sex, it was so f**king good and while the defending assisted immensely, the execution of it, the weight, the angle, it made Sterjovski's job so simple.

I'd much rather see a player make that good choice that pantses the back 4 than dancing with them while options close up.

Rogic is a little more in the Perez mould, and he's still a little too one sided. He's getting better week by week though and looks a good prospect.

Where Musti really shone was his decision making, vision and timing...he just knew when and where to lay a clever ball almost without looking. Of course his skill was great too.

Rogic mainly lacks the experience, I think, to make those same sorts of decisions but does seem to be growing each game and he's got Arnie as a mentor. Should see much improvement in that area over the season. For his and our sakes' I hope he sticks out the season just to gain that experience for his decison making

At the start of the season Rogis wasn`t in the same class as Perez & Musti.
After the last two games I still think he`s not in the same class.
He`s risen above them both.

Young players are often intimidated by their success but he seems to feed on it, he has come back from the Socceroos with his confidence sky high - he seems emboldened by the experience. He is an extraordinary talent and can only get better.
