ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

The FFA have gone over the top with this. Maybe we (all supporters) should organise a round soon encouraging as  many people as possible to bring Eureka flags to all 4 A-League games. Would the FFA throw hundreds of people out of each game?

Bunch of left wing loonies, they deserve it.......  :p

Still, this is ludicrous by the FFA, and I can't wait to watch Melbourne's next home game and see a _lot_ of those flags flying inside the Dome.  Surely security wouldn't dare try to kick out hundreds of people at once??

meh, shouldn't of been let in since season 1. at the start of the league only flags that were supposed to be let in were recognised ensigns of the countries or the states playing. NZ flag (for knights or nix games), aussie flags or the state flags. fans banners and coloured flags are slighty different.

As to the the Eureka flag it is heavily tied into the union movement.

So the FFA are the guardians of the Constitution are they?? Do they see the Eureka flag as some sort of threat to our wonderful democratic way of life??

Tools.

Does anyone think that the MV fans are making a statement about union solidarity by waving this flag? No, of course not.

This is another example of the pointy headed idiots at the FFA trying to "enhance the overall matchday experience" by killing off any form of spontaneous fans actions.

Glad my degree isnt in marketing, I need feel no shame

Not a question about FFA being guardians of the constitution, stems back to the NSL days as some ethnic flags were seen as being a red rag to the bull, so to speak.

Personally can see why native Australians may be antagonised by the flag, but for those from other countries, if they don't like it...just follow the signs to the airport.

the decisions already been reversed i read on melb forums, was a stupid stupid idea to start with

FFA should spend more time concentrating on improving their marketing campaigns which are clearly failing, the new ads do nothing to bring people to games - they dont even have information on game kickoff times etc... i dont know why they waste time on rubbish like this

and youre exactly right NS. FFA should spend more time marketing the games etc and building the crowds which have been pretty low so far this season.

Apparently they are a risk if displayed at an Olympic Qualifying match, but once you qualify it's OK.  ::)

I think every supporters group of A-League clubs, should fly the Eureka flag (and many of them) next week in order to get the message to the FFA they should back the f**k off.

That flag is a flag of the people, as much as the Rebel flag is for the US folks, and I for one, don't approve of this political correctness gone mad.

OK folks, we are in big trouble, we have been flaunting the FFA's rules by displaying close likenesses of the Ukraine national flag!!!

From Wiki

The Flag of Ukraine (Ukrainian: державний прапор України; translit.: derzhavnyy prapor Ukrayiny; literally state flag of Ukraine) is the national flag of Ukraine. The national flag was officially adopted for the first time in 1918 by a short-lived Ukrainian People's Republic. At that time the commonly used yellowblue flag had already turned into blue and yellow and sported a trident (tryzub) in the upper left corner. The insignia remained unchanged by the successive government of Pavlo Skoropadsky, and then by the Directorate of Ukraine.

Until the Ukrainian Communists who (according to my 10 sec trawl through Wiki) hate that flag and storm Bluetongue

also the australian white supremacist movement - leading to militant unionist groups making eureka flag t-shirts and stickers with the slogan 'class war, not race war'.

It has our navy background, just change the 'white' southern cross to our 'yellow' and there's the 'mariners' version.
