Well done to the guy. Obviously will sit on the bench but it will be a good experience for him.

Squad:

Wonder how Josh Rose feels... David Carney gets selected ahead of him having done 2/5 of f**k all in the last year.

Makes you wonder what Josh has to do to get selected....
And why they keep persisting with Carney...

Very well deserved for Matty, number 1 keeper in the A-League and obviously done well enough with the Olympic team at international level to be included.

Will be fantastic experience that will only help him improve. It is going to be scary how good he can become if he keeps his development going.

TBH Musty hasn`t really set the world on fire this season & neither has Rosey.
Carney`s had very limited game time in the last 2years,probably played more games for the Socceroos than first team games at his various clubs.

I`d be looking elsewhere...

Frustrating squad selection.

I don't mind Holger asking young players to step up and be consistent and passionate of they want a call up. That's fine. What pisses me off is Carney, North, Milligan, and while I think he's a great player. There is no future in selecting Archie also.
And not including Rose is absurd. The guy actually knows how to defend and is fast. As in he can track with international class winger fast. ANd not just see us get continually RAPED down our flanks. How can there be any debate on this issue?

Sorry, MF, but imo Amini doesn't deserve a call up at all currently. But if Holger is talking consistency, I'll tell you who does though. Bloody WIlko. Honestly, North getting another look in ahead of him is just outrighht ridiculous. I mean they experimented with bloody Sigmund McKain FFS. While ironically, Durante is twice the defender Sigmund is.

As to Milligan, if you could have Milligan or Rostyn, who would you choose?? If I was a coach, I'd LOVE to watch Paartalu and Rostyn duking it our for the same position, or they'd be monstrous alongside each other. And I'd take either one of them over Valeri.

Positives are Matty, Troisi, Paartalu, Spiro, Sarota. Thwaite... he's good, but I still think the CB from the top of the table side should get some pretty serious consideration over the CB from the spooning side. As does Franjic who has been immense for two years. And if Pedj could cross, I'd be saying it should be him being considered.

Otherwise, for just the experience of being in camp, it would have been great to see, Babalj, Rogic, Halloran and Behich selected.

. agree with the comments on wilko ... but he does have a couple of problems:

.. he is very clean and efficient ... most of what he does goes unnoticed

.. his partner is patrick ... who generally receives all the plaudits (even from us) and is often referred to as one of the best imports (if not the best) the league has seen. it is often wilko making patrick look good rather than the other way around. of course my old mate up in bay 49 hasn't seen him do a good thing in 7 seasons

. as for rosey ... he has been awesome the few matches. before that he was a shadow of last year's form

. good news for us though is that two key players are not burdened with more football at this time of year ... not so good for the guys themselves

bikini knows her stuff.

Rose is great for us but is not an international class fullback. Way better than Heff but Heff should never have been capped.

Wilko is the same really but more consistent than Rose. Both great, great players but not internationals.

Griffiths has the potential but is not quite ready...maybe 1 more season.
